MINUTES OF THE MEETING
OF THE
OTTER TAIL COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
July 7, 1983
The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, July 7,
1983 in the Commissioners Room of the Otter Tail County Courthouse, Fergus Falls,
MN, with the following members present:
George Walter
Frank Lachowitzer
Craig Anderson
Tom Stringer
John Everts
Chairman Walter opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m., and hearing no
corrections or additions, declared the minutes of the June 2nd meeting approved
as mailed.
The following variance requests were considered:
Duane John Antonsen, Vergas, MM, requested permission to construct a dwelling
70' from lake shore rather than the required 100' in G.L. 4, Section 5, Edna Town
ship, After discussion, motion was made by Frank Lachowitzer, seconded by Tom
Stringer and carried, to deny approval as there is sufficient room on the lot to
place the dwelling 100' back from lake, no adequate hardship shown.
John E. Durose, S^nt Paul, MN, requested permission to construct a new addition
onto side of present dwel 1 ing, extending ten feet closer to lake, on Lot 1,
Section 36, Rush Lake Township. After discussion, motion was made by Craig Anderson
to approve, hardship being the topography and the present cement structure, creating
\
a practical solution to best utilize property. The motion died for lack of a second.
Motion was then made by John Everts, seconded by Frank Lachowitzer and carried with
Craig Anderson voting "no", to deny approval, lack of adequate hardship, with other
ways around to solve the problem, adequate open area for construction and no justi
fication in moving that close to lake.
Arne Kolehmainen, New York Mills, MN, requested permission to convey a parcel of less
than 2!^ acres without platting, in Section 9, Newton Township. After discussion,
motion was made by George Walter, seconded by Frank Lachowitzer and carried, to approve,
best use of property already in a developed subdivision.

per requirements of the Otter Tail County Shoreland Management Ordinance or the
Subdivision Controls Ordinance. The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment will assemble
for this hearing on July 7th 1983 » 7;00 p.m. , in the Commissioners
Room of the Otter Tail County Courthouse, Fergus Falls, MN. (Please use Law Enforcement
entrance).
