Dear Mr. Wardale:
Our office has received your letter dated December 18, 1986 which was
addressed to the Otter Tail County Board of Commissioners. This letter
apparently refers to the construction of a scre^ened area under your sun deck
which was denied by tbe Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment on November 3,
1983.
Since our records do not indicate a reapplication for a variance for this
enclosure, 1 am assuming your letter refers to the September 15, 1986
meeting of the Otter Tail County Board of Commissioners (copy enclosed). As
you will see, at this meeting, screened porches in general were discussed
and it was decided not to change the Shoreland Management Ordinance
requirements regarding them. Therefore, a variance (application enclosed)
from the Board of Adjustment is still required if a structures to be placed
closer to a lake than the existing setback requirements.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact our office.

Gentlemen:
In reference to the Notice Of Hearing pertaining to John William
Wardale on his reapplication for a variance to place removeable
screens around an area under a 12' x l6' sun deck, I have examined
the project site and do not object to this modification.
The screens would protect Mr & Mrs Wardale from the mosquito's and
other summer insects while thev enjoy the view of the lake during the
summer months . The addition of ..the screens will not do anything else '
to the surrounding area. The Wardale's keep their property neat and
in very,good repair. The property is an asset to the area.
I trust you \vill give them every consideration and approve their
request for the screens.
