Brust, Delano, MN, requested the foiloving variances: 1.) a variance of 48' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' and a variance of 4' froa the required side lot line setback of 10' for the construction of a 20' by 24' garage located 52' froa the ordinary high water level and 6' froa the side lot line, 2.) a variance of 48' froa the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' and a variance of 5' froa the required side lot line setback of 10' for the construction of a second story to an existing 18' by 32' dwelling located 52' froa the ordinary high water level and 5' froa the side lot line, and 3.) a variance of 52' froa the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' for the addition of a 4' by 8' second story balcony. The property is described as the East 1/2 of Lot 4 and the West 3/4 of Lot 5, First Addition to Stenstrom Beach, Long Lake in Elizabeth Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 46' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the construction of a garage 52’ from the ordinary high water level and at least 10' from the side lot line; a variance of 48' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' and a variance of 5' from the required side lot line setback of 10’ for the construction of a second story to an existing IS' by 32’ dwelling located 52' from the ordinary high water level and 5’ from the west lot line. The Board did not approve the proposed balcony or an addition in front of the existing dwelling. It should he noted that neither the garage addition or the second story addition will be any closer to the ordinary high water level than the existing dwelling and the approval of the variance as stated above provides the applicant with a reasonable use of his property. Renee C. Goff - Approved Renee Cheryl Goff, Erhard, MN, requested a variance of 38' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the placement of a dwelling 162’ from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as the SWl/4 3E1/4 and part of the SEl/4 SWl/4 and Government Lot 6, Section 11 of Friberg Township on High Island Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 58’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200' for the placement of a dwelling 162’ from the ordinary high water level with the condition that the existing dwelling and garage must be removed within six months after the new structure has been completed. It was noted by tne Board that this is the best possible location for the new dwelling, that other structures are closer to the ordinary high water level and that the granting of this variance does not establish a precedent.
