Ihe retaining wall on the lakeside replaces the rotted railroad ties that were allowing soil to be washed throu^ them toward the lake. Ihe wall of retaining block completely protects the lake from auay potential run-off resulting from heavy rains through use of rip-rap lining behind the wall; thereby retaining any runneff within the yard area. By bringing the area up to that of the rest of the lot & that of the neighbors it will become more useful to us as the owners and will better blend in with the neighbors' lot levels. Ihe lakeside wall is approximately 6" higher than the ground level anticipated in order to prevent rapid off from heavy rain storms from entering the lake. It is Intended to create a lower area in the center of the yard area in order to trap these run-offs and allow the water collected to percolate into the soil. Ihe original drawings have been filed with the Shoreland Mgmt. office (copies are attached). Since this application does not qualify for the 20 day advance notice for the August meeting, please advise when this application will be reviewed in order that I can be in attendance at the hearing.
