(2:20 p.m.) Patricia and Steven Pranke, Lot 8 and part of Lot 9, Maplehurst, Lake Lida in Lida Township, requested the following: a variance request to split Parcel A (as shown on the survey drawing filed in the County Auditor’s office) and convey it to James F. Thompson, to be attached to Lot 10. This would decrease Lots 8 and 9 by 1,324 square feet and increase Lot 10 by 1,324 square feet. This would be done to fulfill purchase agreement condition of May 18, 2004. Cindy Nelson represented the applicants at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After consideration and discussion, Randall Mann made a motion to approve the variance as requested. It was noted that the variance as requested wouid establish two parcels more equal in size, would allow room for a future septic system site and does not negativeiy impact either parcel. The hardship that was noted was substandard lots of record. After additional discussion and consideration the motion to approve was withdrawn and Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to table with the verbal permission of the applicants' representative this variance hearing until the November 1,2007 meeting of the Board of Adjustment to provide the applicants an opportunity to consider the relocation of two existing sheds which are located very close to the property lines. Paul and Jean Mart - Approved modified variance. (2:43 p.m.) Paul and Jean Mart, Lot 6 Block 1 Herman’s Woods, Big Pine Lake in Pine Lake Township, requested the following: our existing home built in 1992 is in the bluff impact zone and we would like to attach a new addition to it so we can iive in it year round permanentiy. We feel the best way to attach new addition is off to the side. The cubic yards of dirt would be 171. My wife is disabled and we need to maintain a one level living space for her. Request a variance to place a 20’ by 36’ addition in line with the existing dwelling and within the bluff impact zone. Also, requesting a variance to allow excavation within the bluff impact zone. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After consideration and discussion, Randall Mann made a motion, second by Michael Harris and unanimously carried, to approve development no closer to the ordinary high water level than the roadside (south) of the existing structure. Hardship is the terrain and the location of the existing dwelling. Concerns with the applicants' proposed location were noted as erosion and excavation within the shore impact zone. Gregory Gack and Kendra Love - Tabled. (2:55 p.m.) Gregory Gack and Kendra Love, Lot 25 Girard Beach, West Battle Lake in Girard Township, requested the following: 2"“* story addition directly above existing structure would intrude into the 30’ bluff setback by approximately 8’ 3”. Existing structure does not meet 30’ bluff setback. All other setbacks and requirements wouid be met for proposed project. Requesting a variance of 8’ 3” from the required 30’ top of bluff setback for the placement of a second story addition unto an existing structure located 21’ 9" from the top of the bluff. Steve Miletto, Contractor, represented the applicants at the public hearing. The audience was polled with Orlo Baslington speaking for the variance as requested. A phone conversation with Steve Volby expressing concern with the location of the lot line was noted for the record. After consideration and discussion, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Les Estes and unanimously carried, to table with the verbal permission of the applicants' representative this variance hearing until the November 1,2007 meeting of the Board of Adjustment to provide the applicants an opportunity to consider other alternatives that would perhaps keep the proposed development out of the bluff setback area. Kimp’s Kamp - Approved the variance as requested. (3:15 p.m.) Kimp’s Kamp, Lot 4 Block 2 Yaquina Bay, Dead Lake in Dead Lake Township, requested a variance of 45’ from the required side lot line setback of 50' for the location of Cabin No. 11 approximateiy 5' from the westerly lot line at the closest point. The audience was polled with Steve Langlie speaking for the variance as requested. After consideration and discussion, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Paul Larson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 45’ from the required side lot line setback of 50’ for the location of Cabin No. 11 approximately 5' from the westerly lot line at the ciosest point as depicted on the drawing submitted with the variance application. It was noted that the proposed development is normal maintenance for the structure. SCANNED
