After consideration and discussion, Paul Larson made a motion, seconded by Ward Uggerud and unanimously carried, to approve
the placement of a dwelling or an addition to the existing dwelling being no closer to the ordinary high water level than the
existing dwelling/cabin. It was noted that the existing structure is in need of repairs. The approved variance does not directly or
indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed development or for any future development.

polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After consideration and discussion, Rick Wilson
made a motion, seconded by Darren Newville and unanimously carried, to approve the variances as described in the
variance application dated June 21, 2016 and as depicted on the drawing submitted with the application. It was noted
that the applicants' proposal is adding a full two-story to the existing structure. The variance as approved does not
directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed or future development. The added height will not
obstmet the view from any adjacent properties.

the following: Request variance to make addition to dwelling e.xtending 21 ’ into the ordinary high water level
setback, due to hardship of substandard lot size. As conditions of existing dwelling are unknown, remedial repairs, up
to and including demolition, may be necessary. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the
variance as requested. Carl a constmetion consultant for the applicant appeared with the applicant at the public
hearing. After consideration and discussion, Paul Larson made a motion, seconded by Ward Uggemd and
unanimously carried, to approve the placement of a dwelling or an addition to the existing dwelling being no closer to
the ordinary high water level than the existing dwelling/cabin. It was noted that the existing stimcture is in need of
repairs. The approved variance does not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed development
or for any future development.
Marlene and Richard Peterson - Variance application approved with modification. (7:50 p.m.)
Marlene and Richard Peterson, Lot 3 of Clearwater Beach, Lake Six in Hobart Township, requested the following; A
variance of 47" from the required ordinai'y high water level setback of 100" for the placement of 1.) a 16’ by 3.6"
laundry room, entiyway. coat closet and 2.) a 10’ by 1 L sunroom. Both of the above to be attached to the south side
of the cottage. Also 3.) an 18' by 22" garage placed on the southwest corner of the lot. to be 14’ from the road right-
of-way and 5’ from the neighbors lot. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as
requested. After consideration and discussion, Paul Larson made a motion, seconded by Rick Wilson and
unanimously carried, to approved the placement of a garage 20’ from the edge of the road (which may or may not be
the road right-of-way) and at least 10’ from the side lot line and to approve a variance of 53' from the required
ordinary high water level setback of 100' for the placement of a 16’ by 3.6’ laundry room, entryway, coat closet and a
10’ by 11 ’ sunroom 47" from the ordinary high water level as depicted on the drawing submitted with the variance
application. The variances as approved do not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed or
future development.
David and Crystal Veum -Variance application approved as requested. (8:00 p.m.)
David and Crystal Veum, Lot 23 of River Oaks and part of Govenunent Lot 1, Section 31 of Fergus Falls Township,
requested the following: The current deck is approximately 76' from the river and the required setback is 100’. We
would like to replace the cuirent deck using the same footprint with a combination deck and four-season room with an
enclosed lower level of the same size. The audience was polled with David Eliason, Joel Egge and Bud Nomes
speaking for the variance as requested. After consideration and discussion, Ward Uggerud made a motion, seconded
by Thomas Lee and canned with Paul Larson voting no, to approve a variance of approximately 24' from the required
ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of development as proposed in the variance application
dated June 23, 2016 approximately 76' from the ordinary high water level. The proposed development will be no
closer to the ordinary high water level than the existing development. The existing deck is in need of repair. The
proposed development is within the general footprint of the existing development. The variance as approved does not
directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed or future development.
