Dear Mr. Mandt,
After several unsuccessful attempts to contact you by telephone (218-346-2775), I
decided to use this means to answer your questions regarding your CUP Application.
As I mentioned, our records indicate that on June 18, 1976 you applied for a
Special (now called Conditional) Use Permit which, if approved, would allow fill material to
be placed on your property (Pt. Of GL 1 86 2, Sec. 17, Pine Lake Twp.).
Our records also indicate that your request was heard by the Coimty Planning
Commission on July 7, 1976, at which time it was tabled for further review. I did not find
any record of your request ever being taken off the table.
Since this is the case, I contacted David Hauser (County Attorney) in order to learn
how we should handle your situation. From this discussion, I learned that we should
consider your request as being denied due to length of time that has passed. However,
since it does not appear your request was officially acted upon, you would have the option
of reapplying for the same project.
I also discussed your situation with Bob Moe (County Assessor). From this
discussion, it is very clear that you should contact Mr. Moe directly regarding your tax
questions.
