Letters from Wayne and Betty Froslie and Dan and Renae Froslie opposing the variance request were read for the record. The audience was polled with Mrs. Froslie speaking to the variance request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 4’ from the Y'equired side lot line setback of 10’ for a 13’ by £9’ addition to an existing cabin &’ from the side lot line. It was noted that the addition would be no closer to the side lot line than the existing structure and the proposed addition will be behind the existing structure. The granting of the variance request will not alter the existing view and it will provide the applicants with a reasonable use of their property. Hardship being a substandard lot of record. Charles Allen Bergland - Denied Charles Allen Bergland, East Grand Forks, MN, requested a variance of £0’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75’ for the construction of a proposed dwelling 55’ from the ordinary high water level. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship had been shown and the granting of the variance request would establish a precedent in this undeveloped area. To approve the variance as requested would not have been consistent with prior actions taken by this board. Jon R. The property is described as the East l/£ of Lot £0, Inglewood, Blanche Lake in Everts Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. ftfter consideration, motion was made by Craig ftnderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 4’ from the required side lot line setback of 10’ for the construction of a proposed £4’ by £fr’ garage 6’ from the side lot line. It was noted that the Board’s approval was being based on the recommendation that Mr. Voight was provided by My'. Rollie Mann, Manager- of the Otter- Tail Water- Management District, regarding the location of the proposed str-ucture. It was also noted that the adjacent property has an existing double garage which should minimize the possibility of a future r-equest from the adjacent property owner- for- construction within the 10’ setback ar-ea.
