Motion was made by George Walter, seconded by Robert Schwartz and unanimously carried, to approve a variance
to subdivide an existing metes and bounds parcel into three metes and bounds parcels of less than 5 acres with the
condition that a 66’ road running across all three lots must be dedicated to the public and with the condition that the
existing cabin which sits across one of the new lot lines must either be removed or place in a location that complies
with all the requirements of the shoreland management ordinance.

The East 3 00 feet of Government Lot 1, Section 2, Township 136,
Range 39, more particularly described as follows, to-wit: With the
southeast corner of Government Lot 1 as the point of beginning;
thence north on the east line thereof 1947.6 feet to the mean high
water line of Little Pine Lake; thence South 65°45' West on said
mean high water line 329.7 feet; thence south and parallel with the
east line of said Government Lot 1, 1816 feet, to the south line of
said Lot 1; thence East on this line 300 feet to the point of
beginning, subject to highway easement and containing 12.96 acres,
excepting the following described tract:

North, Range 39 West of the 5th Principal Meridian described
as follows: Beginning on the East line of said Section 2,
1694.34 feet North of the Southeast corner of said Section 2;

David A. and Dawn M. Lysaker, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested a variance to subdivide a 30’ by 140’ parcel from an
existing 1.41 acre tract for conveyance to Lon and Ronna Laager the property owners of the adjacent property. If
approved the 30’ by 140’ parcel would be permanently attached to the property owned by Lon and Ronna Laager. The
property is described as part of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter, Section 23 of Pelican Township by
the Pelican River. Lon and Ronna Laager represented the applicants at the public hearing. The audience was polled
with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by
Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested with the condition that a registered
surveyor’s drawing must be provided at the time of recording.
Paul H. Lehmkuhl - Tabled
Paul H. Lehmkuhl, Perham, MN, requested a variance “to maintain a 50’ setback from the lake (ordinary high water
level) on both side boundary lines.” Requesting a variance of approximately 50’ on the South boundary line from the
ordinary high water level. The property is described as part of Government Lot 2, Section 14 of Edna Township by
Paul Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was
made by Cecil Femling, seconded by Robert Schwartz to approve a location for a structure being no closer than 50’ to
any part of the ordinary high water level. After additional discussion this motion was withdrawn and a motion was made
by Randall Mann, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried to table the applicant’s request for additional
measurement information. Per agreement with the applicant the variance hearing was tabled until the December 5,
1996, meeting.
Brian Jorgenson - Approved
Brian Jorgenson, Fergus Falls, MN, requested a variance to subdivide a 3.6 acre parcel from an existing 83.08 acre
tract. The property is described as part of Government Lots 6 and 7, Section 9 of Aurdal Township by Mud Lake. The
audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. Clem Hendrickson, Surveyor, appeared along
with the applicant at the public hearing. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by John
Everts and unanimoulsly carried, to approve a variance to subdivide a 3.6 acre parcel from an existing 83.03 acre tract
witWhe condition that a registered surveyor’s drawing must be provided at the time of recording.

Anna Marie Millen, Omaha, NE, requested a variance to subdivide an existing metes and bounds parcel into three
metes and bounds parcels of less than 5 acres and a variance to provide access to these tracts from an existing
township road on the east over an easement rather than by a dedicated public road. It should be noted that each tract
would have 100’ of water frontage and would be approximately 750’ deep. The property is described as part of
Government Lot 1, Section 2 of Perham Township by Little Pine Lake. The applicant was represented at the public
hearing by Terry Karkela, Attorney, and by Clem Hendrickson, Surveyor. The audience was polled with a
representative of the Lake Association speaking to the request. After consideration, motion was made by George
Walter, seconded by Robert Schwartz and unanimously carried, to approve a variance to subdivide an existing metes
and bounds parcel into three metes and bounds parcels of less than 5 acres with, the condition that a 66’ road running
across ail three lots must be dedicated to the public and with the condition that the existing cabin which sits across one
