Fergus Falls. Minnesota siuno 3rd, 1993 Page 5 Nancy E. and Lynn A. Steinke - Denied Nancy E. and Lynn A. Steinke, Bismarck, ND, requested a variance from the water-oriented accessory structure setbacks for the replacement and improvement of an existing boathouse. The new boathouse would be constructed using the existing excavation and would be moved about 4 to 6' further away from the ordinary high water line. The new construction would disturb only about 5 to 6 cubic yards of earth and this would be used for back fill and some berming. The new footings will be about 1' higher than the existing footings. The applicants would like to construct a structure on top of the boat house for multi use. The increased height would allow for the construction of a proper roof system. This structure will be the main recreation unit for three lots. The property is described as Lot 2, Northland Beach, Pelican Lake in Dunn Township. The variance-request was represented by Annette Struck and Nancy Steinke. The audience was polled with the following individuals speaking against this variance request: Muriel Johnsrud, Wayne Puppe and Sylvester Fritz. A letter from Daniel J, Crothers was read for the record. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to deny this variance as no adequate hardship had been shown. It was stated that whenever new construction or major repairs are occurring these structures should be brought into compliance. Michael J. Kaminski - Approved Michael J. Kaminski, Perham, MN, requested a variance of 70' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200' for the location of a structure. The property is described as part of the SE1 /4 SE1 /4, Section 1 of Perham Township on an unnamed lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to approve a 44' variance from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200' for the location of a structure, subject to township board approval of the driveway. The applicant will contact the Land and Resource Management office regarding the bluff zone area. The granting of this variance should keep the structure out of the bluff zone. Hardship being the terrain and topography. Scott R. Leabo - Approved Scott R. Leabo, Erhard, MN, requested a variance of 1 00' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200' for the construction of a 28' by 32' dwelling. The property is described as Lots 15 and 16, Clear Beach Resort, Fish Lake in Aurdal Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request, After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Dan Oehler and unanimously carried, to approve the construction of a 28' by 32' dwelling in line with existing buildings in the area and the structure will be at least 20' from the road right of way. / June 3rd, 1 993 Page 6 Jeanine Donaldson - Approved Jeanine Donaldson, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested a variance of 6'8" from the required side lot line setback of 1 O' for the construction of a 20' by 24' garage . The property is described as Lot 5, 2nd Addition to Outlet Beach, Lake Lida in Lida Township. This variance request was tabled at the November 5th, 1992, Board of Adjustment meeting. The following action was taken at the April 8th, 1993 meeting; After consideration, motion was made by Dan Oehler, seconded by Bert Olson and unanimously carried, to deny this variance request since the applicant has not appeared at a hearing. It was reported at the June 3rd, 1993, meeting that the applicant has a handicap which has made it difficult for her to attend any of the Board of Adjustment hearings and due to an apparent misunderstanding it was not her intention to have the Board deny her request for failure to attend a hearing. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by Dan Oehler and unanimously carried to rescind the motion that was passed at the April 8th , 1993 meeting and to table her variance request until the June 10th, 1993 meeting. The following action was taken at the June 10th, 1993, meeting; After consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 6’ 8" from the required side lot line setback of 1 O' for the construction of a garage no larger than 20' by 24', The building line is not being changed. Clarification and Reconsideration - Harold Morine At the October 1 st, 1992 meeting, the following action was taken; Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to grant construction of a new cabin up to what the string line test would allow. The string line test was to be applied from the location of Mr. Lloyd Hanson's airstream mobile home to Mr, Alan Harder's cabin. Upon revelw of Mr. Lloyd Hanson's site permit it was determined that he had a permit that allowed the placement of the airstream mobile home at either a setback of 100' or the established building line. The Marine's requested that they be allowed to use the closer setback from the lake where Mr. Lloyd Hanson's airstream mobile home could have been located had Mr. Hanson decided to locate his mobile home using the established building line instead of the 100' setback. The Board of Adjustment by general consent agreed that the string line test should be applied from the closer point where Mr. Hanson's mobile home could have been located to Mr, Alan Harder's cabin. This will'permit construction of the new cabin in approximately the same location as the old structure. With no further business.
