After discussion and consideration, Thomas Lee made a motion, second by Ward Uggerud and unanimously carried, to approve the variances necessary to allow the applicant to extend his existing stairway to the west the full length of the house (32’ by 6’) as depicted on the drawing submitted with the variance application. (9:10 p.m.) Rodney and Connie Olmsted, part of Government 3, Section 22 of Eastern Township by Long and Mary Lakes, requested the following: a variance of 119’ from 200 lake setback to construct a 12’ by 24’ porch 81 ’ from the lake. Variance was granted in April 2014 to construct a 10’ by 24’ deck in this location due to misunderstanding of terminology. I would like to revise variance to include a roof and walls. The audience was polled with no speaking for or against the variance as requested. The existing structures need significant maintenance. The proposed development will not obstruct the view from the adjacent properties. The hardship/practical difficulty is the terrain features of the applicants’ property.
