We propose to raise the dwelling up 2 14 feet to allow us to finish the basement and use it as living space. The current deck on the front will need to be removed for this process. Prior to the scheduled public hearing the applicants had informed the office that they had decided to withdraw their variance application. Timothy and Denise Callander - Approved Timothy and Denise Callander, Elk River, MN, requested a variance of 10’ from the required lot line (road right-of-way) setback of 10’ and a variance of 10’ from the required drain field setback of 20’ for the installation of a drain field 0’ from the road right-of-way and 10’ from an attached garage. A letter from David Moenkedick expressing concerns with the variance application was read for the record. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Robert Scwhartz and unanimously carried, to approve the installation of a drain field 20’ from the house/garage, 0’ from the east lot line and 5’ from the road right-of-way. It , should be noted that these variances are granted from the down slope of the mound system. Appears to be the best location available on the applicants’ property, as it has been developed, for the placement of this mound system. M. Duane and Ruth Koehler - Approved M. Duane and Ruth Koehler, Ottertail, MN, requested a variance to created a metes and bounds parcel of approximately 4.3 acres. The minimum size required for metes and bounds parcels within the shoreland area is 5 acres. The property is described as part of Government Lots 1 and 2 and part of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, Section 20 of Otto Township by Rush Lake. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve the subdivision as presented.
