Lundeen 324855 \ MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE OTTER TAIL COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT Wednesday, December 6, 2006 The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Wednesday, December 6, 2006, with the following .persons. ■’ in attendance: Cecil Femling Paul Larson Sieve Schierer James Arno Michael Harris Randall Mann Mark Ronning, Land and Resource Management Kurt Mortenson, County Attorney’s Office Called to Order - Randall Mann, Chair.called the meeting of the Board of Adjustment to order at 6:30 p.m. Minutes Approved- The Board of Adjustment approved the minutes of the November 2, 2006 meeting as mailed. The Board of Adjustment considered the following applications for variance: Tim and Sue Atkinson- Approved the variance as requested with a condition. (6:30 p.m.) Tim and Sue Atkinson, part of Lot 7 and all of Lots 8 and 9, Parkdale Beach, Swan Lake in Dane Prairie Township, requested a variance of 56’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ and a variance of 6’ from the required shore impact zone setback of 50’ for the placement of the.south wall of a new addition 44’ from the ordinary high water level. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. An email from Robert and Cheryl Sefkow in support of the variance as requested was read for the record. After consideration .and discussion, Steve Schierer made a. motion, , second by Michael Harris and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 56’ from the required ordinary . high water level setback of 100’ and a variance of 6’ from the required shore impact zone setback of 50’ for the placement of the south wall of a new addition 44’ frpm the ordinary high water level with the condition that no more than 25% of the total lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces. The Board noted that the proposed development is behind the existing building line and that the proposed development vyill not obstruct the view from the adjacent properties. Hardship'is a substandard lot of record. Peter J. Waldon - Denied (6:40 p.m.) Peter J. Waldon, part of Government Lots 1 and 2, Section 18 of Otto Township by Rush Lsike, requested a variance of 7’ from the 20’ maximum height of a non-dwelling structure for the construction of a non­ dwelling (garage) approximately 320’ from the ordinary high water level and having an overall height of 27’. The audience was polled with ho one speaking for or against the variance as requested.
