(6:48 p.m.) LAD Properties LLC, part of Government Lots 8 and 9, Section 26 of Dead Lake Township by Dead Lake, requested the following; a variance of 104’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of .200’ to remodel existing structure/cabin,' add second floor/story, and kitchen and add an. attached 24’ by 29’ garage with the closest point being no closer than the existing structure, which is 96’ from the ordinary high water level. Don and Luke Prettyman represented the applicant. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Thomas Lee made a motion, seconded by Michael Harris and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 104’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of .200’ to remodel existing structure/cabin, add second floor/story, and kitchen and add an attached 24’ by ,29’ garage with the closest point being no closer than the existing structure, which is 96’ from the ordinary high water level as depicted on the drawing submitted with the variance application with the condition that the existing structure’s floor and walls must be usable and utilized for the proposed development. It should be noted that if the existing structure’s floor and walls are not usable and utilized then the variance as approved is void. It should be noted that the approval is based on the fact that this is a remodeling project and that the proposed addition is to the rear of the existing structure away from the ordinary high water level. David A. Meier - Approved the variance application as requested with a condition. (6:55 p.m.) David A. Meier, part of Government Lot 6, Section .2 of St. Olaf Township by Long Lake, requested a variance of 64' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ and a variance of 14’ from the required shore impact zone setback of 50’ for the construction of a deck 36’ from the ordinary high water level. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. A letter from Donald Greengard in support of the variance as requested was read for the record. After discussion and consideration, Paul Larson made a motion, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 64’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ and a variance of 14’ from the required shore impact zone setback of 50’ for the construction of a deck 36’ from the ordinary high water level with the condition that the existing concrete slab where the deck will be placed must be removed and replaced with rocks and with the condition that no more that more than 25% of the total eligible lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces. It should be noted that the proposed deck will be behind the string line and the proposed development is not adding any additional impervious surfaces to this property. Note- The Board of Adjustment recessed from 7:05 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Steve and Caroline Lorentzen- Approved the variance application as requested.
