The Board of Adjustment considered the following applications for variance: Charles and Maureen Grunewald - Variance application approved as requested. (6:32 p.m.) Charles and Maureen Grunewald, part of Government Lot 3, Section 21 and part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, Section 28 of Otter Tail Township by Otter Tail Lake, requested the following; build deck (12’ X 24’) over existing patio in bluff zone 225 feet from lake. Requesting 30 foot variance to be zero feet from bluff The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. Letters form Bruce Fuhrman and Bob and Pat Thiel in support of the variance as requested was read for the record. After consideration and discussion, Paul Larson made a motion, second by Thomas Lee and unanimously carried, to approve a 30’ variance from the required top of bluff setback of 30’ for the construction of a 12’ by 24’ deck over an existing patio 0’ from the top of the bluff. The proposed development is 225’ from the lake, is no closer to the ordinary high water level than the neighboring properties is being constructed on an existing patio and addresses safety concerns from the upper level.
