Jon and Lorraine Ittel - Approved the requested variance as modified and with a condition. (9:45 p.m.)
After discussion and consideration, Paul Larson made a motion, second by Steve Schierer and carried with Cecil
Femling voting no, to approve the placement of the proposed dwelling and deck no closer to the ordinary high water
level than the existing 6’ 6” by 12’ addition, which is assume to be the sightline, with the condition that no more than
25% of the total lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces. A deck less than 3’ in height possibly could be
placed ahead of the sightline. Hardship is a substandard lot of record.

Natalie I Morrison - Approved the proposed dwelling addition and denied the requested
variances for the proposed screen porch and for the proposed garage. (9:35
p.m.)
Natalie I Morrison, part of Government Lot 3, Section 25 of Clitherall Township by Crane Lake,
requested a variance of 5’ from the required,road right-of-way setback of 20’ for the placement of a 24’
by 30’ garage 15’ from the road right-of-way, a variance of 50’ from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 100’ for the placement of a 14’ by 24’. screen porch on the southwest corner of the
existing structure 50’ from the ordinary high water level and a variance of 34’ from the required ordinary
high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of 34’by 34’ by 10’ addition 66’ from the ordinary
high water level. The audience was polled with Richard Harding, Crane Lake Property Owners
Association speaking in support of the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Paul
Larson made a motion, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of
34’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of a 34’ by 34’ by 10’
addition 66’ from the ordinary high water level as depicted on the applicant’s drawing and to deny the
variances as requested for the proposed screen porch and for the proposed garage. The Board noted
that variance as approved will provide the applicant with reasonable use of their property and also
noted that there is adequate room to place the proposed garage 20’ from the road right-of-way.

Jon and Lorraine Ittel, Lot 5 Delaney’s Beach, Hoffman Lake in Dora Township, requested a variance of
63’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of a 26’ by 44’ dwelling
37’from the ordinary high water level and a variance of 74’ from the required ordinary high water level
setback of 100’ for the placement of deck 26’ from the ordinary high water level. The audience was
polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After,discussion and
consideration, Paul Larson made a motion, second by Steve Schierer and carried with Cecil Femling
voting no, to approve the placement of the proposed dwelling and deck no closer to the ordinary high
water level than the existing 6’ 6” by 12’ addition, which is assume to be the sightline, with the condition
that no more than 25% of the total lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces. A deck less than
3’ in height possibly could be placed ahead of the sightline. Hardship is a substandard lot of record.
James C Johnson - Denied. (10:05 p.m.)
James C Johnson, Lot A Jacob’s Survey Lot of Government Lot 5, Section 11 of Pelican Township by
Prairie Lake, requested a variance of 6’ from the required side lot line setback of 10’ and a variance of
12’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of 12’ by 26’ garage
addition 4’ from the lot line and 88’ from the ordinary high water level. The audience was not polled as
there was no in attendance at the time of this hearing. Letters from Bill and Char Steinhoff and from
Joe Miranowski in support of the variance as requested was read for the record. After discussion and
consideration, Paul Larson made a motion, second by,Michael Harris and carried with Cecil Femling
abstaining to deny the variance as requested noting that no adequate hardship unique to the property
had been shown that would allow for the granting of the variance as requested and noting that the
applicant has reasonable use of his property and can obtain a reasonable use of his property without
the granting of the requested variance.
With no further business, Randall Mann, Chair declared the meeting adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
