(8:36 p.m.) After consideration and discussion, Michael Conlon made a motion, second by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to approve the proposed development being no closer to the ordinary high water level than what is permitted when establishing the general building line from the existing trailer house on Lot 29 to the existing deck on Lot 32 as depicted in blue and circled in yellow on the drawing dated September 13, 2005 with the condition that no more than 25% of the total lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces and with the condition that an existing garage must be removed. The applicant noted that the plan is to remove all existing structure. The variance as approved does not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed development. PROJECT MEMO August 10, 2005 Ottertail County Land and Resource Management Matt Malone, Residential Project Manager Hagen Residence on West McDonald Lake Date: To: From: Re: To Whom It May Concern: Our firm was hired by Ted and Sara Hagen to develop plans for a permanent residence on West McDonald Lake. Prior to completing the development of those plans, the location of the setback from that lake needs to be verified. According to the Shoreline Management Ordinance for Ottertail County, all new structures on recreational development lakes must setback lOO’-O” from the lake or meet a “stringline” setback between dwellings on adjacent properties. As you can see based off of the attached site plan, there is limited building area if the lOO’-O” setback is used. It is safe to assume that the “stringline” setback would be the preferred setback. However, the “stringline” setback is somewhat difficult to determine for this lot due to the fact that there is no longer a building structure on one of the adjacent properties. Because of questions pertaining to the exact “stringline” setback location, our office would like to request that a representative visit the site to determine the location of the setback from the lake. The address for the property in question is 33587 Charlie Trapp Road. If possible, I would like to meet at the site so that I can gain a clearer picture of where the setback will be established. If you have any questions for the area in question, please contact Tony Stoll or myself at (218) 346-4505. Thank you for your time and considej:9tion on this project. y Respectfufly yo^frs, ^ ^ A ■■ C£'. I Matt J/f Malone / END OF MEMO cc.
