Thompson, Edina, MN, requested a variance “to redo interior and exterior of old shed, 14’ by 20’ needing repairing, into a sleeping cabin. No plumbing/No Heating. Replace deteriorated deck with a porch (enclosed) 10’ by 14’ on backside. Add on a lean to on north side of original building (8’ by 20’). As far as we know the iot pies out on the NW to NE on Northerly line, so we should be in compliance with the 10’ iot line regulation.’’ Per the Land and Resource Department the proposed additions will be 34’ and 54’ from the ordinary high water level, the lot line setback will be 5.5’ and there will be two dwellings on one parcel. The property is described as the northeriy 33’ and the easterly 290’ of the northerly 208’ of Sub Lot B of Government Lots 10 and 11, Section 4 of Dora Township by West Loon Lake. Roger D. Walvatne - Approved as modified. Roger D. Walvatne, Underwood, MN, requested a variance of 28’ from the required road right-of-way setback of 40’ for the placement of a 24’ by 24’ garage/shed 12’ from the road right-of-way. The property is described as a 2.5 acre parcel in the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter and in the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, Section 26 of Maine Township. A letter from Richard West, County Engineer, in support of a 20’ variance was read for the record. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration and discussion, motion was made by David Holmgren, second by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried to approve a variance of 20’ from the required road right-of-way setback of 40’ for the placement of a 24’ by 24’ garage/shed 20’ from the road right-of-way.
