Minnesota November 5,1998 Page 5 Gordon Hegre - Denied Gordon Hegre, South Fargo, ND, requested a variance of 3’ from the required lot line setback of 10’ and a variance of 8’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75’ for a 14’ by 23’ addition and new deck 7’ from the side lot line and 67’ from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as Lots 7 and 8, Block 5, Lida Shores, Lake Lida in Lida Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship had been shown and adequate space towards Lot 8 is available that does provide the applicant with other reasonable alternatives that do not require the granting of a variance. Alice Copple - Approved Alice Copple, Dakota City, NE, requested a variance of 43’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of a dwelling 57’ from the ordinary high water level. “Allow house to be placed on lot in approximate line with other existing houses in development. This allows the same lake view as neighbors enjoy and neighbors trees will not block my view.” The property is described as part of Sub Lot B in Government Lot 4, Section 28 and part of Government Lot 1, Section 29 of Tordenskjold Township by Stalker Lake. The audience was polled with Virgil Schmit speaking for the request. After consideration, motion was made by George Walter, seconded by David Holmgren and unanimously carried, to approve the placement of a dwelling no closer to the ordinary high water level than the existing building line (string line) as applied between the existing dwelling in the immediate area. It was noted that there are two vacant lots immediately to the north of the applicant’s property. Barbara Kaldahl and Dan Lockler - Denied Barbara Kaldahl and Dan Lockler, Rosemount, MN, requested a variance of 4’ from the required lot line setback of 10’ for the placement of 32’ by 30’ garage 6’ from the lot line. The property is described as Lot 2, Block 1, Poss Beach Second Addition, Lake Lizzie in Dunn Township. A letter from Carolyn 'Markle in favor of the appliant’s request was read for the record. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by John Evert and unanimously carried, to allow the slab to remain in its current location with the condition that the 32’ by 30’ garage must be placed at least 10’ from the lot line. It was noted that adequate area for the placement of a garage on the applicants’ lot does exist which does not require a variance from the requirements of the ordinance. Charles and Karen Zweber - Denied Charles and Karen Zweber, Lakeville, MN, requested the following variance for the construction of a garage on that part of Government Lot 6, Section 4 of Dora Township by East Spirit Lake: “This is a 50 foot wide lot, would like to build this garage 10 foot from North property line and 10 foot from East and West property line. Your setback calls for 20 foot from roadway traveled surface of easement. I would like this 20-foot reduced to 10 foot from the property line. A letter from Robert C. and Alice Reed and Warren and Ardella Bellefeuille expressing concerns with the applicants’ request was read for the record. The audience was polled with no.one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Dave Trites and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested noting that the proposed building is to much structure for the property.
