EXHIBIT A
Variance Requested is:
Applicant has located, remodeled and refurbished a boat/bar which is located adjacent
to The Pier Restaurant. This boat/bar is, by definition, a water orientated structure or
facility (W.O.A.S.). This boat/bar constitutes a W.O.A.S. because of its location and
relationship to the existing restaurant, and, consequently, it needs to be located close to
Otter Tail Lake.
A variance is requested to allow:
A boat/bar that is 11 feet 3 inches in height rather than the maximum
height of 10 feet (III (4) (F) (2)).
A.
A boat/bar that is 36 feet in length rather than the maximum width of 20
feet as measured parallel to the shoreline (III (4) (F) (4)).
B.
The boat/bar complies with the following requirements of a W.O.A.S.:
1. It is located above ground (III (4) (F) (1)).
It is less than 260 square feet in size (III (4) (F) (3)).2.
It is set back from the ordinary high water mark at least 20
feet (III (4) (F) (5)).

4. It complies with lot line setbacks (III (4) (F) (6)).
It is not used for human habitation and does not have a water
or sewer connection (III (4) (F) (7)).
