information about surrounding property, etc. APPLICANT SHALL BE PRESENT AT THE SCHEDULED HEARING.
I understand that I have applied for a variance from the requirements of the Shoreiand Management Ordinance of Otter Tail
County. I understand I must contact my township In order to determine whether or not any additional variance and/or permits
are required by the township for my proposed project.

MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
JMotion was made by Craig Anderson. seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried to
approve the variance as requested as it is the most convenient location for this structure in
regards to the neighbor's property and the applicant is not in violation on his own property, but
in the neighbor's property. Hardship being the terrain features of the property and the
indentation of the shoreline.

Arthur D. Novacek, Moorhead, MN, requested a variance to place a 24’ by 28' garage 77' from
the lake at the closest point, The required setback from the ordinary high water level is 100'.
The property is described as Lots 9 and 10, Block 2 of Echo Ranch Riveria, Long Lake in Otter
Tail Township. Letters in favor of granting this variance request were read for the record from
the following; Edward Sampson, Kenneth Wichmann, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E, Brauch. The
audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion
was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried to approve the
variance as requested as it is the most convenient location for this structure in regards to the
neighbor's property and the applicant is not in violation on his own property, but in the
neighbor's property. Hardship being the terrain features of the property and the indentation of
the shoreline.

Steven and Patty Lies - Approved
^'1Steven and Patty Lies, Wahpeton, ND, requested a variance of 63' from the required ordinary
high water level setback of 100' and a variance of 13' from the required shore impact zone
setback of 50' for the construction of a 12' by 16' addition to the existing cottage. The addition
will be in the string line with adjacent neighbors. The property is described as Lot 6 of
Sundberg Point Addition, Pickeral Lake in Maine Township. The audience was polled with no one
speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts,
seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a 63' variance from the
required ordinary high water level setback of 100' and a 13' variance from the required shore
impact zone setback of 50' for the construction of a 12’ by 16' addition to the existing cottage.
Hardship being a substandard lot of record and the building line is being maintained.

Joel Hegerle - Denied
Joel Hegerle, Fergus Falls, MN, requested a variance of 2' from the maximum height for a water
- oriented accessory structure of 1 O' for the construction of a 12' by 18' by 12' structure. The
property is described as part of Government Lot 7, Section 22 of Dane Prairie Township on
Indian Lake, The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After
consideration, motion was made by Bert Olson, seconded by Craig Anderson and carried with
John Everts abstaining, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship had been
shown and the granting of this request would establish a precedent.
Daniel and William True - Approved
Daniel and William True, Clitherall, MN, requested a variance to sell the following parcels with
less than the required square footage of 20,000 feet: Tract A (18,593 square feet), and Tract
B (18,655 square feet) of Reserve Lot A and Tract C (19,540 square feet) and Tract D
(19,645 square feet) of Reserve Lot C. The property is described as part of Reserves A and C,
Coney Island Acres, West Battle Lake in Girard Township. The audience was polled with no one
speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson,
seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested by the
applicant. The granting of this variance will correct a long existing condition.

We understand there is some problem about Art Novacek's garage being too
close to the shoreline.
We walked the shoreline and you can only see a very small part of the garage
The location of the garage is just fin#^until you come up the hill.We are
sure that it was just a misunderstanding.
