( 6:55 p.m.) Clark Dietz, part of Lot 15, Beauty Beach, Deer Lake in Everts Township, requested a variance of 50’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of a structure 50’ from the ordinary high water level. Charles Dietz appeared along with applicant. Chairman Mann polled the audience with Janet Berg speaking for the variance as requested. Letters from Janet Berg, Gayle and Sharon Platt and Chester Neese in support of the variance as requested were read for the record. After discussion and consideration, Cecil Femling made a motion, seconded by Paul Larson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 50’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of a structure 50’ from the ordinary high water level. The Board noted that the proposed development as completed is within the same footprint except for the new addition, is not within the shore impact zone and substantially cleanup and improved the property. Gordon Berg - Approved the variance as requested. (7:05 p.m.) Gordon Berg, Lot 5 Block 5, Pelican Heights Subdivision, Little Pelican Lake in Dunn Township, requested a variance to have a substandard back lot (Lot 5 Block 5, Pelican Heights Subdivision) declared a buildable lot for residential development. Lot 5 Block 5, Pelican Heights Subdivision was a lot of record as of October 1975, but due to a rule change regarding back lots in 1992, this lot is now substandard in size. Chairman Mann polled the audience with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to declare Lot 5 Block 5, Pelican Heights Subdivision a buildable lot for residential development. The Board noted that the variance as approved would provide the applicant with a reasonable use of his property, will provide the applicant with the ability to enjoy the same rights and privileges as others in this immediate area and is consistent with past actions of the Board. Susan Van deStreek - Approved the variance as modified. (7:10 p.m.) Susan Van deStreek, Lot 3 Block 1, Echo Ranch Riviera, Long Lake in Otter Tail Township requested a variance of 23’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ and a variance of 2’ from the required side lot line setback of 10’ for the placement of a 14' by 14’ addition 77’ from the ordinary high water level and 8' from the side lot line. Also, requesting a variance of 16’ and a variance of 5T from the required side lot line setback of 65’ for the placement of a 12’ by 12’ gazebo 14’ from the north property line and 49’ from the south property line. Chairman Mann polled the audience with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 23’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for an addition to the existing dwelling located 77’ from the ordinary high water level and to deny the side lot line requests for both the proposed addition and the gazebo.
