MN • 1-800-346-4870 Board of Adjustment Otter Tail County Dear Sirs: We are the proposed buyers of Otter Tail Lake lot # 607. Currently there is a 12 X 14 utihty shed located on the premises with a five-foot setback. If we purchase the property, we would like to be able to build a larger non dwelling structure that could be used for a garage as well as a storage shed We are therefore requesting a variance to build an 18-foot X 30-foot garage / utihty storage shed on the property with only a five-foot setback from the east property line. We are requesting this variance based on the hardship that due to the septic tank and drain field being locatoi in the middle of the property and the location of the sewer line from the dwelling to the septic tank hrnit the construction of a building to the existing site which currently utilizes a five foot setback. Also, elevation on the lot is a consideration. We selected an 18 X 30-foot structure because neighbor just 3 lots away recently built this size structure and it appears to be adequate in size to accormnodate our anticipated needs. We apfaeciate your thoughtful consideration on this matter as the option to build a garage / utility shed on this property may determine our closing or cancellation of the purchase agreement.
