L. Acker Manager September 12, 1975 Mr. Malcolm K. Lee Shoreland Management Administration Ottertail County, Minnesota Attn: Mr. Jim Johnson Shoreland Management Ottertail County City Hall Perham, Minn. 56573 Dear Jim: Please refer to the attached variance request and the sketch attached. I have listed below what I consider to be common sense 'real world' reasons for the requested variance of current county ordinances. Variance requested: Ordinance Request 2?SSet back from property line 5 1+0 15Set back from Road ROW Rational 1. Variance requested will line up the proposed l8 x 28' storage building with the adjacent garage to the South; both in respect to distance from property line and distance from the ROW. Proposed location will not interfere with my sewage system which is new and conformity to the newest enviromental regulations. 2. 3. Proposed location will enable me to retain several lovely oak trees which are an asset to the property and area. 1+.Proposed building is not intended for vehicle storage as this is a summer cottage only. Building would be used for work shop (non-commercial) and boat storage in Winter. 5. Proposed siting allows plenty of room for snow removal. In fact, I am this Fall removing some trees on the North end to assist the snow plow in negotiating turns, etc. (which I am not required to do). ^ 5,. •' Any quotations on prospective sales, and prices named by this company for current or fu ture delivery on any product delivered within the United States, ate made with the under standing that any internal revertue tax, war tax, excise tax, sales tax, import, export,.imposi:, tonnage, shipping or other charge, or tax of any kind, effective at the present tirne or hereaf ter made effective and levied by any governmental autiiority on any of the products, the pro duct container, on the rrianufacture, transportation and/or sale of the product, or on the con tract, the contract price, profits, or any matter connected therewith, shall be added to such price and paid by the customer. We have been on this property since 19^7» and this is an older, limited footage lot; there is no possibility of purchasing property on the North or South and this variance request represents the only realistic approach. Acker Lake Lot 56-12 Little Pine Lake Sec. 31» Twp. 137, Range 38 Carliss K & B Beach Lot 3 Your correspondence (copy) is attached. In ny original application and sketch, I neglected to indicate the location of my newly installed (April 197^) sewage system. The system is a totally enclosed system consisting of all drainage and sewage lines connected to an underground 1,000 gallon tank. Contents of the tank are removed as needed by a local hauler. This system was installed by the Bretz Hardware of Perham, and at the time of installation fully met all shoreland ordinance requirements. Therefore, I ask that you remove the "conditions of approval" on my variance request in as much as I am now in total compliance. As a matter of interest only, I have agreed to Join with several others in the construction of a group sewer line to a central holding tank and field which will allow others on our beach to close off their unsatisfactory fields and will place the entire beach in compliance with future requirements. I would suggest that a telephone call to A1 Bretz at Perham would resolve this entire matter and that you can issue the building permit. Many thanks, D. L.
