The Board of Adjustment considered the following applications for variance; orge Gunderson - Approved the variance as requested. (6:32 p.m.) George Gunderson, Lot 2 Bush Hill Country Bay, East Battle Lake in Nidaros Township, requested a variance of 36’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of a 16’ by 38’ addition 64’ from the ordinary high water level and a variance to have Lot 2 Bush Hill Country Bay, a substandard lot, declared build able. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Paul Larson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 36’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of the proposed 16’ by 38’ addition 64’ from the ordinary high water level as depicted on the drawing dated April 17, 2007 and to declared Lot 2 Bush Hill Country Bay a build able lot. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Paul Larson made a motion, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 88’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the construction of a 24’ by 26’ detached garage 112’ from the ordinary high water level as depicted on the drawing dated April 23, 2007 with the condition that the pitch of the garage roof cannot exceed the pitch of the existing dwelling. It was noted that the size of the proposed garage is reasonable and will provide the applicant with a reasonable use of the property. It was also noted that the proposed location is behind the existing dwelling and will not obstruct view from the adjacent properties. Hardship is a substandard lot of record.
