As you can see the Planning Commission has requested your opinion
on a few items that were heard at the August 6, 1980 meeting.
Richard Hahn, questioned whether or not his fill would have to be
placed on the common lot line or could he have it more centrally
located?
It was felt that the request of Donald Hau might fall partially
into your jurisdiction hence the inspection with Curt Sproull.
The cut and full request by David Berg involves a low marshy area
and questions arose regarding whether or not this area is a
valuable filter basin.
While this is quite a large request we hope that you can do as
many as time permits. Your help in these matters is deeply
appreciated.

Dear Mr, Chairman:
At the request of the Planning Commission, I inspected lots 7,
8, and 9 of Eastwood Shores T132N, R40W, Sec, 13, Govt, Lot 4
on Clitherall Lake, As shown on the plat, there is a small
type III wetland on these three lots. The area adjacent to
both lots 8 and 9 in the wetland is the highest point in the
wetland. Although it was spongy during the inspection, there
was standing water on either side of this high spot in both
lots. Both owners of lots 8 and 9 would like some access
across the wetland to building sites. After a little discuss
ion we all agreed it would be reasonable if each owner of lot
8 and lot 9 were allowed to fill across this basin with granu
lar fill (gravel or sand) 50 ft, into the basin from either
side of the property line. The fill would then be common to
both lots, spanning a width of 100 feet from the toe of the
fill on lot 8 to the toe of the fill on lot 9, It should be
sloped no steeper than 3:1 to the top of the fill. Top of
the fill should be at least 1,5 ft, lower than the lowest
point on the ice ridge. About 6 inches of mineral soil should
be placed on top of the granular material and seeded to grass
es such as fescue and blue grass. Final elevation of the fill
section should be no higher than 1,0 ft, below the ice ridge,A 6" or 8" pipe, tile or culvert should be placed on the exist
ing grade line at the bottom of the fill to prevent drainage
from being impeded on any one lot, Mr, Hahn asked if he could
deepen the remaining wetland area to which I have no objection,
as long as the spoil does not enter the lake either artificially
or naturally. In my opinion this would not affect lot 7 and
further, there is no need for fill on lot 7,

application of Richard L. Hahn, dated June 10, 1980 on Clitherall Lake,
No. 56-238, RD, Sec. 13 of Clitherall Twp. per DNR recommendation and
deviation okayed if approved by Terry Lejcher.
Voting; All members in favor.
A motion by Sproull, second by Lee to approve the Special Use
application of Donald A. Hau, dated June 19, 1980 on Lida Lake,
No. 56-7A7, GD, Sec 33 of Lida per on-site approval by Sproull and
Terry Lejcher, DNR in writing.

application of Myrna E. Mondt, dated June 3, 1980 on Dead Lake, No.

1. The proposed fill would be gravel, enhancing the filtering ^
properties of the lowland. i• . 'I
2. The level of the proposed fill would be approximately
2 (tvro) feet below the lowest point of the tor of the
ice ridge.
3. The landscaped fill would be seeded with fescue grass,
requiring less nitrogen.
4#. To enhance the vegitation presently on. the ice ridge, we plan
to plant additional trees to act as an additional buffer strip,
providing deep rooted plants to absorb nutrients from the
soil before they seep into the lake water. Hopefully, this
will have a similar impact to tlie present vegetation.

The ice ridge will be left in its present state with no
alteration.

6.This application proceeds no plans for any construction on
the proposed fill which would alter drainage or
filtering properties of the proposed filled lowland.
Because of the high ridge bordering lots 9 and 10, any fill on
lots 8 and 9 would have a minimal effect on lot 10.

The desired effect of fill on lots 8 and 9 would have a
neglegable effect on lot 7.
