VARIANCE REQUESTED IS:
To waiv* restriction of 10 ft. from foundation of proposed addition to holding
tanks for the following reasons:
No basement on structure.
Foundation would not obstruct maintenance of tanks.
Moving tanks would bring them too close to neighbor's well.
Cost prohibitive to move, (impossible to move without breaking tanks
so a complete new installation would be required plus removal of old
tanks to accomplish same)

20' for the construction of a 24' by 32' garage. The property is described as part of the SE1 /4NE1 /4 and part of
Government Lot 1, Section 13 of Dora Township on West McDonald Lake, The audience was polled with no one speaking
for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Dan Oehler and
unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 10' from the required road right-of-way setback of 20' for the
construction of a 24' by 32' garage. The applicant will not be backing out on to the road right-of-way and the location
of this garage should not create any snow removal problems. Hardship being the terrain and topography of the
applicant's lot.
R.D. Offutt Company, Paul T. Horn - Approved
R,D, Offutt Company, Paul T, Horn, Fargo, ND, requested a variance to subdivide a parcel of less than 2,5 acres from
an existing 30,3 acre parcel. The property is described as part of the SW1 /4 lying northeast of the railway right of
way, Section 10 of Perham Township. Keith McOovern represented the applicant at the hearing. The audience was
polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made Craig Anderson, seconded
by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance to subdivide a parcel of less than 2,5 acres from an
existing 30,3 acre parcel with the condition that a registered surveyor's drawing and a letter stating that there are no
property Hnp disputes be provided at the time of recording.
WiUrom and Mary Houck/Larry and Connie Fuller - Denied
William and Mary Houck and Larry and Connie Fuller, Wolsey, SD, requested a variance of 2,5' from the required
holding tank setback of 10' for the construction of a 1 O' by 26' addition to an existing structure 7,5' from the holding tank, the property is described as Lot 6, Linden Grove, Clitherall Lake in Clitherall Township, The audience was
polled with no one speaking for or against the request, After consideration, motion was made by George Walter,
seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship had been
shown.

Orvis Dahlen, Long Prairie, MN, requested a variance of 10' from the required road right of way setback of 20' for the
construction of a single family dwelling with an attached garage and a 3' variance from the required road right of way
setback of 20' for the construction of a storage shed on the east side of the lot. The property is described as part of
Government Lot 2, Section 14 of Eagle Lake Township on Eagle Lake, The audience was polled with no one speaking for
or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and
unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 10' from the required road right of way setback of 20' for the
construction of a single family dwelling with an attached garage, subject to the approval of the Eagle Lake Town Board,
and to approve a variance of 3' from the required road right of way setback of 20' for the construction of a storage
shed on the east side of the lot, subject to the approval of the Eagle Lake Town Board.
Russetl W. Becken, Rodney C. Scheel, Herbert J. Thompson and Harold Neuman - Approved
Russell W, Becken, Rodney C. Scheel, Herbert J. Thompson and Harold Neuman, FergusFalls, MN, requested a variance
to subdivide a parcel into three parcels of less than 2.5 acres. The applicants desire to permanently attach these three
parcels to Lots 47,48 and 49 of Eldorado Beach, The property is described as part of Government Lot 3, Section 23 of
Amor Township on Otter Tail Lake. A letter from Luther Kristensen in favor of granting this variance request was
read for the record. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration,
motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Dan Oehler and unanimously carried, to aoorove the variance as
requested with the conditions that there can be no residual parcel left unattached, and that a registered surveyor's
drawing and a letter stating that there are no property line disputes will be provided at the time of recording.

T.A. Esala - Approved
T.A, Esala, Ottertail, MN, requested a variance of 14,5' from the required road right of way setback of 20' for the
placement of a 14' by 22' garage. The property is described as Lot 4, Block 2, Pioneer Acres, Rush Lake in Rush Lake
Township. Letters from Rolf and Karen Nelson and Raymond and Roberta Heinonen in support of this variance request
were read for the record. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After-
consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to approve a
variance of 14.5' from the required road right of way setback of 20' for the placement of a 14' by 22' garage.
Charles Cavanagh - Approved
Charles Cavanagh, Perham, MN, requested a variance of 45' from the required ordinar-y high water level setback of
75' and a variance of 7.5' from the required shore impact zone setback of 37,5' for the construction of an approximate
24' by 24' addition above an existing garage and for the construction of a 22' by 8' attached upper level deck. The
closest point of the new additions to the ordinary high water level would be 30', The property is described as the
westerly 100' of Government Lot 4 south of the road. Section 25 of Gorman Township on Little Pine Lake, The
audience was polled with Mr. Storvick and Mr. Petterson speaking against the granting of this variance request. After
consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve the
second story and that the upper deck will be 14' in length extending to the west of the three season porch and no closer
to the west side wall of the house than 8'. The run off from the roof must drain away from the neighbor's property.
The new additions cannot be any closer to the side lot line than the existing structure.
Karsten Hordvik and Agnes I. Carlander - Approved
Karsten Hordvik, Fargo, ND and Agnes I, Carlander, Santa Barbara, CA, requested a variance of approximately 7' from
the required side lot line setback of 1 O' for the location of an existing shed and for the location of an existing dwelling
3' from the side lot line, also requesting a variance to change the lot lines as indicated on the drawing on file with the
Auditor's office. The applicants desire to swap a 20' by 49' easement for a 3' by 40' strip along the boundary of Lots
26 and 27. The exchange of this property will put an existing cabin completely on the Carlander's property and will
give Hordvik title to the land he has been using. The property is described as Lots 26 and 27, Block 3, Crystal Hills,
Crystal Lake in Lida Township, Todd Carlander represented the applicants at the hearing. The audience was polled
with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by
Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve an 8' variance from the required side lot line setback of 10' for
the location of an existing shed and for the location of an existing dwelling 3' from the side lot line, also granting
approval for the requested lot line changes with the provision that a registered surveyor's drawing is provided at the
time of recording.
Robert N. Jensen and Jeannine M. Oesterreich - Approved
Robert N. Jensen and Jeannine M. Oesterreich, Ottertail, MN, requested a variance of 62' from the required ordinary
high water level setback of 75' and a variance of 24,5' from the required shore impact zone setback of 37,5' for the
remodeling of an existing building. The property is described as Lots 3, 4, 5 except the east 25' and Lot 6, William
Reese's Lakeshore, Rush Lake in Rush Lake Township, The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the
request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried,
to approve a variance of 62' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75' and a variance of 24,5' from
the required shore impact zone setback of 37.5' for the remodeling of an existing building. The remodeled structure
will be no closer to the lake or the adjacent cabin than the existing structure.
