UIHN./it July 7th, 1994 Page 5 After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded oy John Everts and carried with Carl Johnson voting no, to table the variance request until the July 14th, 1994, meeting to allow the applicant an opportunity to discuss with county staff the concerns expressed by the County Attorney's office at the hearing, e Steen - Denied Arlie Steen, Clitherall, MN, requested a variance of 10' from the required side lot line setback of 10' and a variance of 10.5' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' for the enclosure of a 10' by 12' portion of an existing 10' by 23' car port located on the side lot line and 89.5' from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as the east 38.5' of Lot 1, Linden Grove, Clitherall Lake in Clitherall Township. The applicant was represented at the hearing by John Anderson, The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as the applicant has reasonable use of his property with his existing structures. The Board of Adjustment did not feel that it would be prudent to grant a variance that would permit construction on a lot line due to the difficulty in maintaining the structure and the increased risk to the public due to fire. Arlin Johnson - Approved Arlin Johnson, Vergas, MN, requested a variance to subdivide a parcel of less than 2.5 acres. The tract wilt be approximately 200'by 150'and will be attached to Lots Hand 15, Maplehurst. The property is described as part of Government Lot 2, Section 26 of Lida Township on Lake Lida. Betty Johnson represented the applicant at the hearing. A letter from Joyce Dinnell addressing this variance request was read for the record. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and carried with Carl Johnson abstaining, to approve a variance to subdivide a parcel of less than 2,5 acres with the conditions that the new parcel cannot be used for the construction of a residential dwelling, the parcel will be permanently attached to Lots 14 and 15, and that a registered surveyor's drawing will be provided at the time of recording. The granting of the variance will improve the lot by increasing the lot area and the granting of the variance does not increase the number of residential building sites. Stan T. Hippo - Tabled Stan T. Hippe, Sioux Falls. SD, requested a variance of 1 1' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' for the conversion of a deck into a screened-in porch 89' from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as Lot 26, Crystal Beach, Clitherall Lake in Clitherall Township. The applicant was represented at the hearing by Mrs. George Gunderson.
