GREGORY JOHN ERICKSON - DENIED
Gregory John Erickson, Battle Lake, tiN requested a variance for the erection of 2 tee pees
(summer months only) for occasional camping by children related to owner. The property is
described as part of the SW' Section 29 of Clitherall Township on Holo Lake, The audience
was polled with no one speaking for or against this request, A letter from LeRoy Carlson stating
no objection to this request was read for the record. After consideration, motion was made by
John Everts, seconded by Craig Anderson and carried with Victor Petterson and Cecil Femling
voting no, to deny the variance request as no adequate hardship had been shown, but to allow the
2 tee pees to remain until the construction of the house is completed. After the vote to deny Mr.
Erickson requested that John Everts withdraw his vote as it was his feeling that John Everts
may have a conflict. At the conclusion of the meeting John Everts stated that out of respect for
Mr. Erickson's request he would withdraw his vote and abstain. The variance request failed by a
vote of 3 to 2 with John Everts abstaining.
DORA CURFMAN CASE - APPROVED
Dora Curfman Case, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested a variance to replace an existing cabin in the
same location Will be 61' from the lake The new structure will be 34' by 36' , with a 30' by
34' attached garage. The property is described as Lot 20. 1 st Addition to Linden Shore Park,
Lake Lida in Lida Township. Dora Case was repi esonted by Kristi Curfman. The audience was
polled with no one speaking for or against this request. After consideration, motion was made by
Victor Petterson, seconded by Dan Oehler and unanimously carried, to approve a 65' setback
from the ordinary high water mark. Hardship being the terrain and the fact that the lot is at a
dead end and therefore used as a turn around area.
JAMES ELLIOTT - APPROVED
James Elliott, Moorhead. MN, requested a variance to construct a garage 3' 6" from the north lot
line The property is described as Sublot N of Government Lot 1 in Section I 1 of Scambler
Township on Pelican Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against this
request A letter from the Pelican Lake Property Owners Association stating no objection to this
request was read for the record. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling,
seconded by Victoi Petterson and unanimously carried, to approve construction of the garage
3'6" from the north lot line Hardship being a substandard lot of record
ARl OWAYNE KILBER - APPROVED
ArloWayne K ilber, Wahpeton, ND, requested a variance to screen In a 30' by 12' patio using the
same roof line as the cabin, one foot lower than the cabin roof, The property Is described as Lot
3 Block 2, Blarney Beach, Otter Tail Lake in Everts Township. The audience was polled with no
one speaking for or against this request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts,
seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested
Har dship being a substandard lot of record and the screened in area would be no closer to the
lake than the existing structure. Granting of the variance will allow the applicant to enjoy the
same rights and privileges as his neighbors.
