MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 6’
from the required side lot line setback of 10’ for the construction of a 5’ by 10’ addition (per the applicant) to an existing
structure 4’ from the side lot line. It was noted that the addition will be no closer to the side lot line than the existing
structure. The approval of the variance request is consistent with prior actions of the Board of Adjustment. Hardship
being a substandard lot of record.

The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, August 1, 1996, with the following persons in attendance:
Craig Anderson
John Everts
Cecil Fern ling

Bill Kalar, Land and Resource Managment Director
David Hauser, Assistant County Attorney
Call to Order - The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman George Walter.
Minutes Approved - July 11,1996
The minutes of the July 11, 1996, meeting were amended and corrected to read as follows:
Fred Bauck - After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by John Everts and unanimously
carried, to approve a variance for an 8’ by 22’ addition and for a 40 square foot addition to an existing structure
located within the shore impact zone.
Kenneth Strandberg - Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to
amend the minutes of the July 11, 1996 Board of Adjustment meeting to read as follows:
to approve a variance for the placement of an existing double wide mobile home 82’ from the water’s edge, as it was
placed on June 1, 1996, with the condition that the Land and Resource Department must agree with Mr. Strandberg
that the existing doubie wide mobile home has been placed in the same location as the previous structure and that the
previous structure was placed in compliance with site perniit 6079 dated June 2, 1983.
The following variance requests were heard:

construction of a 5’ by 12’ addition to an existing structure 4’ from the side lot line. The property is described as Lot 2 of
ttie West Half of Government Lot 1, Section 26 of Clitherall Township by Crane Lake. The audience was polled with no
one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John
Everts and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 6’ from the required side lot line setback of 10’ for the
construction of a 5’ by 10’ addition (per the applicant) to an existing structure 4’ from the side lot line. It was noted that
the addition will be no closer to the side lot line than the existing structure. The approval of the variance request is ^
consistent with prior actions of the Board of Adjustment. Hardship being a substandard lot of record.
Michael Lynn Weinhandl - Approved
Michael Lynn Weinhandl, Elizabeth, MN, requested a variance of approximately 48’ from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 75’ for the construction of a 6’ by 16’ addition to an existing cabin approximately 27’ from the ordinary
high water level. The property is described as Lot 21, Block 4, Lida Shores in Lida Township. The audience was polled
with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made John Everts, seconded by
Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of approximately 48’ from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 75’ for the construction of a 6’ by 16’ addition to an existing cabin approximately 27’ from the ordinary
high water level. It was noted that the structure would be no closer to the ordinary high water level than the existing
structure. The approval of the variance request is consistent with prior actions of the Board of Adjustment. Hardship
being a substandard lot of record.
