MN, requested a variance of 35’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' for the addition of a roof over an existing patio. After consideration, motion was made by Bert Olson, seconded by Cecil Femlingand unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 35' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' for the addition of a roof over an existing patio with the condition that there will be no water-oriented accessory structure on this lot. ?: Marjorie Grewatz - Denied Marjorie Grewatz, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested a variance of 5' from the required 1 O' setback for the placement of a drain field 5' from the lot line. A letter in favor of this variance request from Philip J. Kieselback was read for the record and a letter from Floyd and Anna Belle Lecy opposing the granting of this variance request was read for the record. After consideration, motion was made by Dan Oehler to approve a 4' variance from the required 10' setback for the location of a drain field 6' from the lot line. This motion died for a lack of a second. After additional consideration, motion was made by George Walter to approve the centering of the drain field between the two houses by the granting of a 2' variance from the required 10' setback, subject to the approval of the adjacent property owner. This motion was later withdrawn. After further consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and carried with Dan Oehler voting no, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship had been shown. Wayne Gustafson - Approved Wayne Gustafson, Detroit Lakes, MN, requested a variance for the construction of an addition to the existing caretaker's residence. The existing septic tank will be 10' from the slab on grade addition. The property has more than one dwelling. The property is described as part of Sub Lot A of Government Lot 6, Section 6 of Dunn Township on Pelican Lake. The applicant was represented at this hearing by Frank Hanson, Contractor. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve a variance for the construction of an addition to the existing caretaker's residence. It was the opinion of the Board of Adjustment members that the variance request was reasonable when they considered the size of the applicant's parcel. James J. Mertes - Approved James J.
