After discussion and consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Robert Schwartz and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship had been shown. The applicant was directed to work with the Land and Resource Administrator and/or the County Highway Engineer to determine a reasonable time for the removal of the non-complying structure. It was noted that Richard West, Otter Tail County Highway Engineer, sited concerns for public safety and future highway improvements as his reasons for opposing the applicant’s request. John Hinz • Denied John Hinz, Bloomington, MN, requested the following: “Authorization to build a single family residence on the same lot as a garage which contains second story walk-out living space.” A detailed explanation of the applicant’s request is available at the County Auditor’s office. The property is described as Tract 1, Crystal Hills 5'^ Addition (Auditor’s Subdivision #108), Lake Crystal in Lida Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After discussion and consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to approve the subdivision of a 200’ by 231.5’ parcel from an existing 5.3 acre parcel with the condition that a registered surveyor’s drawing meeting the requirements of the Subdivision Controls Ordinance must be presented at the time of conveyance.
