September 11, 2003, with the following persons in attendance; Cecil Femling Randall Mann Richard Sha Kyle Westergard, Land and Resource Management Eric Babolian, Land and Resource Management Barb Hanson, Assistant County Attorney Kurt Mortenson, Assistant County Attorney Paul Larson Steve Schierer Mark Steuart Call to Order - Randall Mann, Chairman, called the meeting of the Board of Adjustment to order at 6:30 p.m. Minutes Approved - Hearing no corrections or additions the minutes of the September 4, 2003 meeting was approved as mailed. The following variance requests were heard: Mel Stoltz - Approved with a condition. (6:30 p.m.) Mel Stoltz, part of Government Lot 10, Section 9 of Star Lake Township by Star Lake, requested a variance to add 3” to 4" topsoil to grow grass for lawn in an area 130' by 125’ (overall maximum area). Fill area will go to the top of the bluff (variance of O’). Approximately 139 cubic yards. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After consideration and discussion , motion was made by Cecil Femling, second by Richard Sha and unanimously carried, to approve a variance for the placement of 3 to 4” of topsoil in the bluff impact zone with the condition the applicant must place sod within the first 10’ from the tip/edge of the bluff as recommended/directed by the Land and Resource Department. (6:36 p.m.) Thomas Minten, part of the East Half of the Southeast Quarter, Section 4 of Clitherall Township, requested a variance to subdivide one-acre from an existing 2.5 acre parcel. The applicant is proposing the construction of a dwelling on the south one-acre parcel of his property and needs to split the commercial portion of the property from the residential portion of the property for financing purposes. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested.
