Larry M. Atkins - Tabled
Larry M. Atkins, Fargo, ND, requested the following: “Keep 8x10 fish house 2 ft. from lot line rather
than move it 40 ft. from the lot line. The fish house is in compliance (21 ft.) from the OHWL. Keep
storage shed 2 ft. from lot line rather than move 40 ft. from lot line. This shed is 60 ft. from OHWL.
Move third shed across lot to 10 ft. from lot line, but 60 ft. from OHWL due to tree.” The property is
described as part of Government Lot 4, Section 9 of Lida Township by Lake Lida. The audience was'
polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig
Anderson, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to table the applicant’s request until
the November 6, 1997 meeting to allow the applicant an opportunity to re-survey the applicant's
property lines and to reconsider the variances as previously requested.
John P. Pritschet - Approved
John P. Pritschet, Battle Lake, MN, requested a variance of 30’ from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 75’ for the enclosure of a 6’ by 16’ deck 45’ from the ordinary high water level. It
should be noted that the deck is already enclosed. The property is described as Lot 30, Raddahl
Survey Lots of Government Lots 1 and 2, Section 3 of Clitherall Township by West Battle Lake. The
audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was
made by Robert Schwartz, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of
30’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75’ for the continued use of a mobile home,
with an unattached enclosed deck, with the condition that no permanent structures will be allowed at
this setback location, with the condition that any permanent structure placed on this lot must be placed
in a location that meets the setback requirements of the ordinance and with the condition that a small
storage shed located on the property line must be placed in a location meeting the setback
requirements of the ordinance. Hardship is a substandard lot of record and the terrain features of the
property.
Michael L. Anderson - Approved
Michael L. Anderson, Dalton, MN, requested the following: “I want to change the roof line on existing
dwelling which is currently 54’ from lake.” The property is described as Tract F of Sub Lot A of
Government Lot 4, Section 28 of Tordenskjold Township by Stalker Lake. The audience was polled
with no one speaking for or against the request. Letters from Judith Sinn, Nancy Sadusky and Don and
Helen Arends in favor of the applicant’s request were read for the record. After consideration, motion
was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve the
variance as requested noting that the planned improvement would be no closer to the ordinary high
water level than the existing structure. Hardship is a pre-existing building needing repair to the roof and
one wall.
David and Gloria Platen - Approved
David and Gloria Platen, Clitherall, MN, requested a variance of 32’ from the required ordinary high
water level setback of 200’ for the addition of a porch to an existing mobile home 168’ from the ordinary
high water level. The property is described as Lot 6, Belmont Heights, Belmont Lake in Leaf Mountain
Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. A letter from
Vernal Lind in favor of the applicants’ request was read for the record. After consideration, motion was
made by Randall Mann, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a 12’ by 18’
porch addition to an existing mobile home noting that a 14’ by 14’ porch had been previously approved
by a site permit issued in 1992.
