I understand that I have applied for a variance from the requirements of the Shoreland Management Ordinance of Otter Tail
County. I understand I must contact my township in order to determine whether or not any additional variance and/or permits
are required by the township for my proposed project.

a porch meeting the shoreland ordinance requirements. The applicant owns a lot with 50'
of lake frontage the required lake frontage for a general development lake is 100'.

Kim Sherman - Approved
Kim Sherman, Erie, KS. requested a variance to be allowed to repair and upgrade an existing
cabin and to perhaps add a porch meeting the shoreland ordinance requirements. The applicant
owns a lot with 50' of lake frontage. The required lake frontage for a general development lake
Is 100'. The property Is described as part of Government Lot 1, Section 2 of Clitherall
Township on West Battle Lake. Everett Sherman represented the applicant at this hearing.
The audience was polled with Robert Sherman and Wayne Tucker speaking in favor of this
variance request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig
Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested. The lot has adequate
square footage and the granting of this variance will not increase the pressure on this lake. The
granting of this variance will not establish a precedent in the immediate district. The tract was
originally recorded as agricultural farmer land as It was separated from the lake by railroad
property. The railroad property has since been acquired by the applicant.

John Gronemon - Approved
John Groneman, Wahpeton, ND, requested a variance of 5' from the required east side lot
11ne( lot 2) setback of 10' for the construction of an addition to the existing cabin and a variance
of 1'6" from the required west side lot 11ne( lot A) setback of 1 O' for the expansion of an
existing shed. The property is described as Lot 3 of Second Addition to Sanda's Beach and a 50'
extension of Lot 3 of Second Addition to Sanda's Beach, East Battle Lake in Girard Township, The
audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request, After consideration, motion
was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Dan Oehler and unanimously carried, to approve a
variance of 5' from the required east side lot 11ne( lot 2) setback of 10' for the construction of
an addition to the existing cabin and a variance of 1 '6" from the required west side lot 11ne( lot
4) setback of ) O' for the expansion of an existing shed with the condition that an existing 4' by
6' structure be removed. Applicant will be maintaining the existing building lines and will not
be any closer to the lot lines than the present structures. Hardship being a substandard lot of
record.
Russell and Gail Green - Approved
Russell and Gall Green, Wadena, MN, requested a variance to split off a parcel of less than 2,5
acres from an existing 1 1.56 acres parcel. The property Is described as part of Government Lot
3, Section 4 in Pine Lake Township on Big Pine Lake, The audience was polled with no one
speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Bert Olson,
seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested, A
surveyor's drawing of the parcel Is to be presented at the time of recording. The parcel being
split off is serviced by a township road.
Paul Allen Harvego - Approved
Paul Allen Harvego, Litchfield, MN, requested a 1 1 to 1 3' variance from the required ordinary
high water level setback of 75' for the placement of a 27' by 38' two bedroom home on Lot 4,
Block 3 of Echo Ranch Riviera 5th Addition, Otter Tall Lake In Otter Tail Township. Jerry
Peterson represented the applicant at the hearing. The audience was polled with no one speakJng
for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by
Dan Oehler and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 1 1 to 1 3' from the required
ordinary high water level setback of 75' for the placement of a 27' by 38' two bedroom hom.8 on
the applicant's lot. The structure will be behind the existing building line and an adequate
sewage disposal system exists for this lot.
