Fergus Falls, MN 56537 Dear Mr. Kreiser: On May 20, 1987, an inspector from this office viewed your lake property, and noted a screen house that looked new, about 55 feet from a "Natural Environment" lake (Lake Eddy 56-737). Your file was reviewed in our office, and your permit to build a screen house specified a 200 foot setback from the lake. Other structures on the lot, some with substandard lake setbacks, and some appearing newer than the dwelling were noted, but no permits were apparent for them in your file. The Shoreland Management Ordinance of Otter Tail County charges this office with the duty of instituting "appropriate action" to "prevent, restrain, correct or abate" infractions against said ordinance. Possibly there are explanations that could clarify our findings.
