Request
We respectfully request for a variance to the Shoreland
Management Ordinance which requires a 200 foot building
setback from shoreline for NE lakes. There is a current
structure which has been used by us located on the property
162 feet back from the current water level and 150 feet from
the high water mark. shoreline. This has been used as a
seasonal type of cabin/lakehome. It is our intent to remodel
the existing structure and add an addition onto this current
structure for purposes of making this our year-round home.
This building will continue to be used as a single family
type home. The lot acreage that surrounds this home is in
excess of eight million square feet (over 200 acres). There
is also well in excess of 2,000 feet of water frontage. The
land to which this building is on was bought in two separate
parcels. The addition would come close to, if not cross over
into, another parcel which is also owned by ourselves.
The addition would run to the North of the current home.It
would be impossible for the addition to run to the West, as
this would be closer to the lake.We would prefer not
as this would requirerunning the addition to the South,
extensive fill plus the addition would be more visible from
the lake.We cannot run it to the East, as this again would
require fill and would place the building close to a swamp
By going to the North, this addition will have little,
if any, environmental impact,

Norway Pines which we would intend on moving to other areas

The structure would be barely visible from the
lake in light of the fact that there are heavy woods between
the proposed addition and the lake,

the environment.
The addition, like the
In addition to the above request, we would also request a
variance from the County's side lot requirement of 10 feet.
The corner of the addition, according to the calculations of
Surveyor Terry Lee Anderson, would be 1.6 feet from the lot
line to the North, which runs Northeast/Southwest.

Dear Mr. Lee
Mr. Robert Kreiser has a home on Eddy Lake in Maplewood Township and has asked
me about fixing up the dead end, minimum Main+ainance township road into his
home. The township doesn't have the funds to do this, but Robert has said he
would pay for it and would taJce any help the township could give him.
The township supports his funding of this project because the road is in very

and you indicated you woiild support it as a privately funded township project.
If it meets with your approval, we will proceed with this project.

board that additional board members were wishing to view the
site and Dr. Kreiser wishes to allow ample opportunity for
the Board of Adjustment members to view the property. It is
his normal practice, during this time of year and times when
he is not at the cabin, to keep his gate locked. He will be
more than willing to open the gate to anyone who desires
viewing the property. All that is necessary is a day or two
advance call.Dr. Kreiser's home telephone number is

fine to leave a message at work and we will see to it that

Dr. Robert Kreiser Variance Request
Our File No. 87-4113T
In Re:
At the most recent Board of Adjustment hearing, the matter
involving my client. Dr. Kreiser, was again continued,
wish to request that if anything additional is needed from
Dr. Kreiser with respects to having this matter fully heard
again at the next Board of Adjustment hearing, that we be
advised of the same and we will comply with the request.
I
We are making the assumption that the original application
will continue to suffice, as will the original posting that
was done on the property, that a variance was requested.
