Abatement JoAnne Pier, together with Auditor, Wayne Stein, was present to discuss parcels 74-000-99-0325-801 and 74-000-99-0325-003. Parcel 325-801 325-801 represents Tract B on the map provided and parcel 325-003 represents Tract C & D on the map. The value of the building that is on Tract B is assessed and taxed along with the balance of the building on Tract C, parcel 325-003. JoAnne Pier has sold Tracts B and C. Since Tract C is a part of parcel 325-003 it has been requested that the 1992 Property taxes be paid in full before the deed transferring title to Tract C can be recorded. Payment of the current taxes on property being divided is required to be paid according to the Minnesota Statute 272.121. After lengthy discussion, a motion was made by’ Windels, seconded Portmann and unanimously carried to table any decision on the above matter until the County Attorney has had an opportunity to research what constitutes a tax parcel. Our concerns regard 2 items listed on the request, the removal of trees from the front of the property. I would hope that some controls are put in place to prevent removal of all of the trees from the lake side of the property, concern is the amount of exposed dirt, 7500 sq ft, and v/hat will happen to the lake should we have any rain during the interim period of excavation as well as the waiting period for grass seed to become long enough to prevent that runoff into the lake, drainage, pot hole, to the immediate South of this parcel has dirt washed into it all spring and summer from residents on the lake that do not get permits to grade their beaches. This drainage of the lake has now been reduced from a depth of 6 feet to only 12-15 inches because of the dirt and debris floating in. this property since 1973 and I would expect that within the next 5 years, at the current rate, the South West exit of the lake, the pot hole, will be completely plugged and require dredging to prevent flooding of homes on the north side of the lake, the uncontrolled potential for erosion within 600 feet of this drainage area could hasten what is already an un-tenable area. This pot hole used to be a spawning area for 4-5 lb bass, and we used to catch and release them daily, now the only thing in there are turtles and potato chip sunnies and bull head minnows. It is not entirely your fault that it has come to this, the residents of the lake that sneak their beach grading in seem to create the worst atmosphere, and in June and July you can stand at the mouth of the pot hole and the water is black with dirt going in and not coming back out. responsible enough to apply for a permit and you could see that it is done without any additional harm to the lake. The first is The second area of The I have owned To allow You do now have someone that is We believe that the excavation should only be contemplated with the idea of sodding the lake side area from the first exposure of black dirt and then back 30 to 40 feet, or with silt screens in place and staggered running parallel to the lake, or better yet, both sodding and silt screens. We will not be attending the meeting, but hope that you will consider these suggestions when making your decision for the future of the lake.
