Minnoiota November 5,1998 Page 6 Herman and Arlene Oeckert - Approved Herman and Arlene Deckert, Henning, MN, requested a variance to place a “septic tank within 10 ft (approx. 2-4 ft) from the cart way” and a variance of 8’ from the east lot line setback of 10’ for the placement of a 25’ by 18’ addition onto the existing dwelling 2’ from the east lot line and behind the building line of the adjacent neighbors. The property is described as that part of Reserve E lying North of Lot 21 and all of Lot 21, Block 7, Leaf Lake Pleasure Grounds, West Leaf Lake in Leaf Lake Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried to approve a variance to place a septic tank within the township road right-of-way noting the letter received from the township and to approve a variance 5’ from the required east lot line setback of 10’ for the placement of an addition 5’from the east lot line with the condition that an existing storage shed must be removed and with the condition that no more than 25% of the applicants’ total lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces. Hardship is a substandard lot of record and the biased lot lines. Kermit M. Lyngaas - Denied Kermit M. Lyngaas, Richville, MN, requested the following; “I have owned my home on Pickerel Lake since 1984 and have done without a garage. I very much need a garage and am applying for a variance on 3 items. 1. Over 25% of surface covered by impervious surface. My lot was already over 25% covered in 1984 when I purchased it. Many neighbors have garages and are over 25% covered. I have not added any impervious cover since 1984 when purchased. Majority of blacktop parking area is on road right of way from before I owned property; 2. To build 3 ft. from lot line (Neighbor agrees to this). Lot is only 50 ft. wide. 3. To build 15.5 ft. from the road right of way line. This is 36 ft. from the edge of the actual road. It is right next to my present blacktop parking area. If I went 20 ft. from right of way I would need to cover 126 square feet-fnore with impervious surface.” The applicant is requesting a variance of 19% from the maximum allowable coverage of 25%, a variance of 7’ from the required lot line setback of 10’ and a variance of 4.5’ from the required road right-of-way setback of 20’ for the placement of a garage 3’ from the lot line, 15.5’ from the road right-of-way and for total impervious surface coverage of 44%. The property is described as Lot 2, Block 4, Haggstroms Beach- Amended Plat Subdivision of Res. A-B-C-D and Lot 32, Haggstroms Beach Third Addition, Pickerel Lake in Maine Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by George Walter, seconded by David Holmgren and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship had been shown and the granting of this request would establish precedence for exceeding the 25% rule. Marshall Gauer - Tabled Marshall Gauer, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested a variance of 44’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the conversion of an existing deck to a three season porch 56’ from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as Lot 1, Dunneden Beach, Lake Lizzie in Dunn Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to accept the applicant request to have the hearing tabled until the December 2, 1998, Board of Adjustment meeting. ;:Ll -L.
