FORM «36B
July 31, 1986
Application for: Variance to the standards from the Board of Adj\istment for
location of storage shed on Bead Lake.
Thomas and Margaret Tchida
Explanation of problem: We woiild prefer to leave the shed in present location,
1, Bistance from the lot line (6 feet clearance) has been approved by Patil Richards,
owner of adjacent land. The signed letter is on file in the office of
Land & Resource Management.
Applicant:
¥e would like to enjoy the same privileges as our nei,^bors.
a.) Neither #1 shed is located ^ feet from shore,
bj Nei^bor #2 shed is located ^ feet from shore,c) Neighbor #3 shed is located 22. fxom shore,
d) Ovir shed is located 21 feet from shore.
A drawing is attached showing the sheds on surrounding properties.
Our shed is located much farther from the shoreline than the neighbors' sheds,
That's 71 feet back compared to their 30 feet.
2.
Our lot and shed are situated next to a swamp. Chances of the adjacent land ever
being filled-in and built on are highly unlikely.
3.
!+•We have heid some problems with vandalism and theft in the past. We are the last
lot on a dead-end road. Anyone traveling on this road must turn around directly
behind our cabin. Also many people unfamiliar with the lake travel this road
searching for public access. They often stop to ask us for directions. Needless
to say, there are many people using the turnaround behind our cabin. We would
like to reduce the risk of vandalism and theft by keeping the shed in a location
that would not be visible from the turnaround.
5.Our lot is substandard in size. We have obtained the required permits for
the cabin and the septic system. We have done the best we can with the
space available. The shed does not obstruct the view of the neighbors and
we believe it is now located in the best area for all concerned.
Sincerely,
Margaret Tchida
