Patrick Michael Kearns - Variance application approved as requested with a condition. (7:30 p.m.)
After consideration and discussion, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Thomas Lee and unanimously carried, to
approve the development (21’ by 24’ roof over existing patio) as proposed in the variance application dated October
18, 2015 with the condition that no more than 30% of the total eligible area can be covered with impervious surfaces.
The variances as approved do not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed development.

Gregory D. Choukalas - Variance application approved as requested. (7:08 p.m.)
Gregory D. Choukalas, Lots 35 and 40 Wall Lake Point, Wall Lake in Dane Prairie Township, requested a
variance of 33’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75’ for a screen porch addition 42’
from the ordinary high water level. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the
variance as requested. After consideration and discussion, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by
Thomas Lee and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 33’ from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 75’ for the placement of a screen porch as depicted on the drawing submitted with the
variance application 42’ from the ordinary high water level. The screen porch is no closer to the ordinary
high water level than the existing trailer. The Board noted that had this request come before the board prior
to completion of the project this specific request or something very similar would have been approved. The
placement of the porch does not negatively impact the surrounding properties. The variance as approved
does provide the applicant with the ability to enjoy the same rights and privileges as others in this immediate
area. The variance as approved does not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed
development.
Patricia K. Seavert- Variance application approved as requested. (7:14 p.m.)
Patricia K. Seavert, Lot 16 Oak Point Park, Rush Lake in Otto Township, requested the following: Current
garage and breezeway are less than 10’ from lot line and we are adding a 2"'* story above the garage.
Approximate setback is 5’ - 5’ 3/16” from lot line. Impervious surface to remain the same except for a
possible 16 square foot for staircase to second story part of staircase will go over existing sidewalk. Dale
Seavert appeared with the applicant. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the
variance as requested. The applicant noted that the 16 square foot pad for the staircase has been eliminated
from the development plan. After consideration and discussion, Paul Larson made a motion, second by Jodi
Sazama and unanimously carried to approve the variances for the proposed development as requested in the
variance application dated October 15, 2015 and as depicted on the drawing submitted with the variance
application. It was noted that the proposed development will not increase the amount of imperious surface
coverage. Hardship/practical difficulty is a substandard lot of record. It was noted that the septic tanks
must be placed in a legal location. The variances as approved do not directly or indirectly grant any other
variances for the proposed development.
Patrick Michael Kearns - Variance application approved as requested with a condition. (7:30 p.m.)
Patrick Michael Kearns, Lot 3 Block 7 Haggstrom’s Subdivision of Reserve Lots E and F and Lot 6
Haggstrom’s Beach Reserve Lot G, Pickerel Lake in Maine Township, requested the following: proposing
21’ by 24’ roof over existing patio “no walls” post and beam construction and a side yard variance on east
side of the lot of 6’ to match 6’ variance on the west side of the lot. Our existing impervious percentage is
38.6. The proposed covered patio will be behind the building line and at least 50’ from the ordinary high
water level. Jason Storo, Contractor represented the applicant at the public hearing. The audience was
polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After consideration and discussion,
Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Thomas Lee and unanimously carried, to approve the
development (21 ’ by 24’ roof over existing patio) as proposed in the variance application dated October 18,
2015 with the condition that no more than 30% of the total eligible area can be covered with impervious
surfaces. The variances as approved do not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed
development.
