The applicant must have the property bought into compliance by June 1, 1999. The property is described as Lot 2, Moores Beach, Pickerel Lake in Maine Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by George Water, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship had been shown and adequate space remains for the placement of the septic tank in an area that will comply with the requirements of the ordinance. The applicant must have the property bought into compliance by June 1, 1999. It was noted that a variance would not have been approved had a request been submitted prior to the completion of the screened porch (addition. John M. Donnelly - Denied ‘ IJohn M. Donnelly, Fargo, ND, requested a variance of 5’ from the required septic tank!setback of 10’ for ' the placement of an overhang and sidewalk (porch) 5’from the septic tank. The property is described as Lot 2, Pelican Bay Shores First Addition, Fish Lake in Dunn Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Uohn Everts, seconded by Les Estes to approve the variance as requested noting that the affected 'area is not part of the enclosed dwelling, enclosing the area would require a site permit which could not be issued because of the present location of the septic tank and there is adequate room for maintaining the existing septic tank. Hardship is a substandard lot of record. This motion failed with Cecil Femling, Randall Mann and George Walter voting no. After additional consideration, motion was made by George Walter, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as other alternatives exists for the applicant and noting public health concerns. The applicant was given until June 1,1999 to bring the property into compliance with the requirements of the ordinance. Gordon Spidahl -Denied •Gordon Spidahl, Fargo, ND, requested a variance of 4” from the required 3’ vertical separation of the lowest floor of a structure from the ordinary high water level for the placement of a crawl space 2’ 8” above the ordinary high water level. The property is described as Lot 4, Block 1, Eng'strom’s Beach 5*'’ Addition, West McDonald Lake in Edna Township. After consideration, motion was nriade by George Walter, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to deny the variance aS requested and to direct that a letter will be written to the contractor advising the contractor of Otter Tail |Courity’s requirements. Erwin Tolkinen - Approved Erwin Tolkinen, Perham, MN, requested a variance of 20’ from the required septic system setback of 50’ for the placement of a septic system 30’ from the wetland. The property is described as Lot 9 and 10, Paul Lake Preserve, Paul Lake in Edna Township. The audience was polled with [no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 20’ from the required septic system setback of 50’ for the placement of a septic system 30’ from the wetland noting that the site was recommended by a licensed installer and that it is the best and perhaps the only suitable site on thej applicant’s property.
