Richard 0. Selenski - Approved
Richard 0. Selenski, Edina, MN, requested a variance to construct a 10' by 24' boat house
on an existing concrete pad 65' from the ordinary high water level. The property is
described as part of Government Lot 5, Section 4 of Lida Township on Rush Lizzie Lake.
The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After
consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously
carried, to approve a variance to construct a 10' by 24' boat house on an existing
concrete pad 65' from the ordinary high water level with the condition that the existing
6' by 12' gas storage shed shall be placed at least 200' from the ordinary high water
level. The 10' by 24' structure shall be considered the applicant's water - oriented
accessory structure. Hardship being the peninsula shape of the applicant's parcel.
Janes M. Henry - Denied
James M. Henry, Moorhead, MN, requested a variance to subdivide a parcel of less than 2.5
acres from an existing 12.136 acre parcel. As per the application "I would like to put up
a storage shed on this 36,710 square foot tract. It is in back of my home on Franklin
Lake. My lot is to small, for the building. It has Public road to the Land and has been
survey by Roy Smith of D.L., MN. The Land will only be used for my shed 24' by 30'. Jim
Henry will sell me this lot. Thank you David L. Henry.* The property is described as
part of Government Lots 3 and 4, Section 27 of Dunn Township on Franklin Lake. David
Henry represented the applicant at the hearing. The audience was polled with no one
speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig
Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as
requested as no adequate hardship had been shown and the parcel proposed for the
subdivision does not have adequate access to a dedicated public road. It should be noted
that the granting of the variance request would establish a precedent.
Roger D. Eredahl - Denied
Roger D. Bredahl, Minot, HD, requested a variance of approximately 2' from the required
side lot line setback of 10' for a 24' by 65' addition to an existing dwelling 8' from the
side lot line. The property is described as Lot 7, Block 2. Amended Plat of Subdivision
of Res. A, B, C, and D, of Haggstrom's Beach, Pickeral Lake in Maine Township. The
audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration,
motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to
deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship had been shown.
