Motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried to
table this request, for additional information from the Highway Department as to their reasons
for recommending that this request be denied, until the October 1 st, 1992 meeting. The Board
of Adjustment has no objections to this variance request and would like to have the Highway
Department informed that they should state specific reasons when objecting to a variance
request, Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously
carried, to permit the applicant to amend his application to read as either a variance from the
cartway or the road and that the affected land owners be re-notified of the amended request and that the applicant's request be tabled until the October 1 st. 1992 meetingVith no additional fee
for the amended request being charged to the applicant

Kenneth Penning - Approved
Kenneth Ronntng, Battle Lake, MN. requested a variance from the required drain field setback of
20' for a 6' by 24' addition to an existing 20' by 24' garage. The property is described as Lot
24, Martee Beach, Blanche Lake in Everts Township. A letter from Rollie Mann, Executive
Director of the Otter Tail Lakes Area Sewer District regarding the Sewer District's position on
variances from septic systems setbacks was shared with the Board, The audience was polled
with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig
Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, that if within the next four
working days the staff of the Land and Resource Management Department can contact and discuss
with Rollie Mann variances from the 20' drain field setback and if an agreement can be reached
with the Otter Tail Lakes Area Sewer District then a variance of 6' from the required drain field
setback of 20' is approved, if contact cannot be made or if an agreement regarding variances
from the 20' drain field setback cannot be reached then a 6' variance from the required side lot
line setback of 10' is approved, for 6' by 24' addition to an existing 20' by 24' garage.
Hardship being the location of the drain field and the terrain features of the property.
Carl and Muriel Annalora - Approved
Carl and Muriel Annalora, Perham, MN, requested a variance of 30' from the required 30'
setback from the top of a bluff for an 18' by 14' screen porch, a 24' by 24' garage and an 8' by
16' breezeway. The property is described as Lot 2, Ternus Beach, Big Pine Lake in Pine Lake
Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After
consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Dan Oehler and carried with
Cecil Femling voting no, to approve the variance as requested as the gable on the building will
drain away from the bluff area, the screen porch will be constructed on pilings, a storage shed
and a kennel will be moved, the only excavation will be for the garage slab and the applicant's
request has been reviewed by the staff of the Land and Resource Management office. Hardship
being the existence of a pre-existing dwelling prior to changes in the shoreland ordinance
requirements.
Joseph S. Sedivy - Approved
Josephs. Sedivy, Richville, MN, requested a variance from the setback requirements for
either a road or for a cartway and a 1' variance from the required side lot line setback of 1 O' for
the addition of a carport. The property is described as Lot 6, Block 2 of the Amended Plat of Sub.
Div, of Res, A-B-C-D of Haggstroms Beach and Lot 6, Block 1, Haggstroms Beach Addition,
Plckeral Lake in Maine Township, The audience was polled with Jeff Sedivy and Edward Straus
speaking to this request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by
Cecil Femling and carried with George Walter voting no, to approve the placement of the carport
between Highway No. 32 and the present garage with the condition that if road construction
should take place in this area and additional right of way is required the owner is responsible
for any costs associated with removal and replacement of this structure. Hardship being a
substandard lot of record and a permanent home.i
