Minnesoi J \ MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE OTTER TAIL COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT July 7, 1988 The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, July 7, 1988, with the following persons inattendance: George Walter, Chairman Craig Anderson John EvertsDaniel Oehler David TritesCarl Johnson Whi. Kalar, Land & Resource Management Chairman Walter declared the meeting open at 7:00 p.m., and hearing no additions or corrections to the minutes of the June 2nd meeting declared same approved as mailed. ALL PRESENT MINUTES APPROVED The following applications for variance were heard: Thomas W. O'Brien, Battle Lake, MN, requested permission to construct a 28' X 24' addition to back of house, requiring a 3' variance from the east lot line. After consideration, motion was made by Daniel Oehler to grant a 2' variance, hardship being the configuration of the lot. The motion was seconded by David Trites and carried with John Everts abstaining. Edmund D. Rydeen, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested permission to place a screen porch over one-half of deck located on the lakeside of home orv the SEH of Lot 2, 2nd Add'n to Inlet Beach, Lida Lake in Lida Township. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts to deny, no adequate hardship shown, to grant would establish a precedence by advancing closer to the lake than the adjacent buildings. The motion was seconded by Craig Anderson and carried unanimously. Dewey Estlick, Richville, MN, requested permission to build a cabin 140' from ordinary high water mark, on Reserve Lot A, Block 1, Larson's Mini-Sha-Da Subdivision, on Dead Lake in Dead Lake Township. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson to approve, as Estlick has chosen the most conforming location on this property and will not be setting a precedence in this location. The location is not totally desirable, and has taken all other setbacks into con sideration, ten feet from property line, 53' from center of road. The motion was seconded by John Everts with an amendment to include that it is a unique lot bounded on both sides by standard lots, con ditioned upon no other variances as to sewer, water, etc., limiting the size of the building to a 20' x 40' construction. The motion carried unanimously. William H. Oumke, Fergus Falls, MN, requested permission to construct storage shed to replace old structure in approximately the same loca tion, one foot from lot line, 60 feet from lake, on the West 50' of Lot 7, Parkdale Beach, Swan Lake in Dane Prairie Township. After dis cussion, motion was made by Carl Johnson to grant anreight foot vari ance from the lot line, 60' variance from the lake. The motion was seconded by Craig Anderson and carried with John Everts and David Trites voting "no". Hardship being a substandard lot of record. Dennis Goetz, Fargo, ND, requested permission to enclose existing deck less than 100 feet from ordinary high water mark, 4' ahead of "string test" line, on Lot 14 of Henry's Hill, Franklin Lake in Dunn Township. After discussion, motion was made by Carl Johnson to approve, because of the shape of the lot. The motion died for lack of a second. Motion was then made by George Walter to grant an 8' x 14' structure starting from the south end of the mobile home, continuing north 14'. The motion was seconded by Dan Oehler. Motion was then made by Craig Anderson to table for additional information. The motion was seconded by Carl Johnson and carried unanimously. THOMAS W.
