MOTION AS FOLLOWS;
Motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig Anderson and carried with George Walter
voting no. to approve a variance of 5’ from the required side lot line setback of 10' for the
instruction of a 24' by 22' garage with the condition that no flammable materials are stored
between the applicant's garage and the neighbor's garage and that the doors to the garage must be
on the east wall. Hardship being a substandard lot of record.

Wayne A. Haugrud, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested a variance of 6' from the required drain field
setback of 20' for the construction of a 26' by 30* garage and for the construction of a 24' by
32' shed. The property is described as Lots 5 and 6 of Trigg Beach, Prairie Lake in Pelican
Township, The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request, After
consideration, motion was made by Bert Olson, seconded by Cecil Femlingand unanimously
carried, to grant a 6' variance from the required drain field setback of 20' for the construction
of a 26' by 30' garage and for the construction of a 24' by 32' shed. These structures are not
occupied and the location of these structures will not restrict maintenance and repair work on
the drain field. Hardship being a substandard lot of record.

Robert Lucking - Approved
Robert Lucking, Perham, MN, requested a variance to combine parcel C with Lot 13 of Kaplers
First Addition to make a substandard lot less substandard. The newly created parcel would have
80' of lake frontage and the required lake frontage for this lake would be 100'. The applicant is
also requesting that this be considered a buildable lot and requests permission to build a house
with a walkout basement in the bluff zone. The property is described as part of Government Lot
4, Section 6 and Lot 13 of Kaplers First Addition , Big Pine Lake in Pine Lake Township. The
audience was polled with Dan Rogers, an Interested purchaser of the property, speaking in favor
of this request and Mike Misiak, representing his parents. Thaddeus and Janina Misiak, asking
questions regarding clarification of the variance request. After consideration, motion was made
by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve the
combination of parcel C and Lot 13 of Kaplers First Addition , After additional consideration,
motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to
table the portion of this variance request that would allow the construction of a house with a
walk out basement in the bluff zone until the structure is staked out on the property and a plan
submitted for review by the board members,

William Landholt, West Des Moines, lA, requested a variance of 5' from the required side lot
line setback of 1 O' for the construction of a 24' by 22' garage. The property is described as the
east 1 O' of Lot 9 and all of Lot 10 of Haggstrom Beach, Pickeral Lake in Maine Township. The
audience was polled with Mr, Donald Hartness speaking for the granting of the applicant's
request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig Anderson and
carried with George Walter voting no, to approve a variance of 5' from the required side lot line
setback of 10' for the construction of a 24' by 22' garage with the condition that no flammable
materials are stored between the applicant's garage and the neighbor's garage and that the doors
to the garage must be on the east wall. Hardship being a substandard lot of record.
