After discussion and consideration, Thomas Lee made a motion, seconded by Darren Newville and unanimously carried, to approve the
variances as requested in the variance application dated April 17, 2017 and as depicted on the drawing submitted with the variance application.
It was noted that there is no other place to locate the proposed structure on this unique shaped lot. It was also noted that the proposed structure
size is a reasonable request. It should be noted that no variances are being granted for the two sheds currently shown in noncomplying
locations on the applicant’s drawing. The variances as approved do not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed
development of for any future development.

Steven and Denise Galletta, Lot 11 Jerry’s Brezzy Beach, Rush Lakelin Rush Lake Township, requested the following: Second
story being added over existing house foot print. Adding a 5’ 1 T’ by 37’ 5” deck to second story covering part of existing deck
and^walkway below. Requesting an ordinary high water level setback variance of 33’ fiom the required 75’ setback for the
proposed to be at 42’ from ordinary high water level. Request variance to be over 260 square feet by 102 square feet for a total of
362 square feet in shore impact zone. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested.
After discussion and consideration, Thomas Lee made a motion,.seconded by Darren Newville and carried with Paul Larson .
voting no, to approve the variance as requested in the variance application dated April 19, 2017 and as depicted on the drawing
submitted with the application. It was noted that this variance application is correcting incorrect measurements from a previous
application. The variances as approved do not directly or indirectly grant any’other variances for the proposed development or for
any future development.

Aaron C. Murray Et. AL, Sub Lot J of Government Lot 1, Section 11 of Scambler Township by Pelican Lake, requested the
following: Requesting to remove existing concrete sidewalk, planter and pavers and replace with wooden platform. Total
impervious surface will remain unchanged at 36%, which is over the 25% maximum. A conditional use permit has beenTiled for
topographical alteration. Appearing at the public hearing was Aaron Murray, Colleen Murray and Linda Thomas. The audience
was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Paul Larson made a
motion, seconded by Thomas Lee and cairied with Darren Newville voting no, to approve the applicant’s proposed project with
the condition that total impervious surface coverage must be reduced to no more than 30% within two years of the granting of this
variance application. The variance as approved does not directly or indirectly grant any other variance for present or future
development.

Loretta Meyer - Variance application approved as requested. (7:42 p.m.)
Loretta Meyer, part of Government Lot 7, Section 32 of Maine Township by West Lost Lake, requested the following: 1 am
requesting a variance for dwelling replacement with deck replacement. The variance is for 146’ from the required 200’ setback
for the deck and for the dwelling 136’ from the required 200’ setback placing the structure at 64’ from the high water mark and
the deck at 54’ from the original high water-mark. All of the hew proposal will be in the shore impact zone. I am also requesting
a variance from 260 square feet shore impact zone allowed impervious surface to be at 1837.5’. Brent Meyer appeared with the
applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After
discussion and consideration, Thornas Lee made a motion, seconded by Darren Newville and unanimously carried, to approve the,
variances as requested in the variance application dated April 17, 2017 arid as depicted on tlie drawing submitted with the
variance application. It was noted that there is no other place to locate the proposed structure on this unique shaped lot. It was
also noted that the proposed structure size is a reasonable request. It should be noted that no variances are being granted for the

Howard and Cynthia Hansen, part of Government Lot 3, Section 30 of Girard Township by West Battle Lake, requested the
following: Property owner requests to be allowed to subdivide real property described in said Exhibit B so tliat the real property
described in said Exhibit C, which’is a part of the real property described in said Exhibit B, can forever and permanently be
attached to the real property described in said Exhibit A, and property owner requests to be allowed to proceed with the foregoing
action without being required to obtain a registered surveyor’s drawingas contemplated in Section IV Subdivision 10(B) of the
Shoreland Management Ordinance of Otter Tail County. The goal is to allow resulting parcels to be buildable for residential
purposes. Greg Larson, Attorney represented the applicants at the public hearing. The audience was polled with Todd Johnson
seeking clarification of the request. A letter from Bill and Crystal Davis expressing concern with access issues was read for the
record. After discussion and consideration, Thomas Lee made a motion, with the applicant’s (Greg Larson) verbal permission, to
table their request until the June 8, 2017 meeting of the Board of Adjustment so that the members of the board could address
some questions to the County Attorney. This motion was seconded by Darren Newville and canied with Rod Boyer and Paul
Larson voting no.
