or THEOTTER TAIL COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
May 4, 1989
The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, May 4,
1989, with the following persons In attendance:
George Walter, Chairman
Craig Anderson
John Everts Dan Oehler
Carl T. Johnson
Cecil Femling
Wally Senyk, Assistant County Attorney
Wm. Kalar, Land & Resource Management
Chairman Nelson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., and hearing
no objections or corrections to the minutes of the April 6th meeting,
declared same approved as mailed.
The following applications were heard:
Dennis Danielson, Rothsay, MN, requested permission to construct an
addition to dwelling 60' from Jewett Lake, on Lot 9, Preston's Lake-
view Beach, Elizabeth Township. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried,
to approve application of the "string test" allowing building up to
a line established between the points on the cottages on either side
closest to lake.
Philip Hagen, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested permission to add a two
foot addition to lakeside of cabin 25' from ordinary high water mark
on a tract In G.L. 5, Section 27, Lida Township, Lake Lida. After
consideration, motion was made by Carl JOhnson, seconded by Cecil
Femling and carried with John Everts voting "no", to grant, hardship
being a substandard lot of record to start with, the terrain of land,
makes anything else difficult, use existing structure to enjoy the same rights and privileges as the neighbors enjoy.
Betty A. Stadum, Moorhead, MN, requested permission to construct garage 5 feet from north line on Lot 1 & 2, Midland Beach, Dunn Town
ship on Pelican Lake. After consideration, motion was made by John
Everts to deny, no adequate hardship shown. The motion was seconded
by Craig Anderson and carried unanimously.
Glenda F. Halter, Redlands, California, with Carl Annalora speaking,
requested permission to sell a triangular piece of property to ad
jacent property owner, from Lot 1, Block 1 Ternus Beach, Big Pine
Lake In Pine Lake Township. After consideration, motion was made
by Cecil Femling, seconded by Carl Johnson and unanimously carried,
to approve, hardship being terrain, with a better use of area.
Maine Presbyterlah Church, Underwood, MN, Duane Ellis and Carl Trites
speaking, requested permission to construct a 20' x 30* addition to
existing church, 20' from road right-of-way. In the SE>sNW>i of Section
23, Maine Township. After consideration, motion was mdde by Cecil
Femling, seconded by Craig Anderson and carried, with JOhn Everts
abstaining because of conflict of interest, to allow, hardship being
safety, with no snow plowing problems expected.
Raymond Rasmussen, Dent, MN, requested permission to erect garage
on r>s of Lot 14, Bill's Beach, West McDonald Lake In Edna Township,
10' X 12' from road rlght-of way. After consideration, motion was
made by Carl Johnson, seconded by Dan Oehler and unanimously carried,
to grant as requested, hardship being a substandard lot of record.
