(9:10 p.m.) Rodney and Connie Olmsted, part of Government 3, Section 22 of Eastern Township by Long and Mary Lakes, requested the following: a variance of 119’ from 200 lake setback to construct a 12’ by 24’ porch 8T from the lake. Variance was granted in April 2014 to construct a 10' by 24’ deck in this location due to misunderstanding of terminology. I would like to revise variance to include a roof and walls. The audience was polled with no speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Thomas Lee and unanimously carried, to approve the placement of an attached enclosed porch no closer to the ordinary high water level than the existing dwelling. It should be noted that the variance as approved does not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed development. After discussion and consideration, Michael Harris made a motion, second by Ward Uggerud and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 45’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for placement of a 50’ by 44’ shed 155’ from the ordinary high water level and a variance of 50’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the placement of 40’ by 58' dwelling with an attached garage 150’ from the ordinary high water level. The existing structures need significant maintenance. The proposed development will not obstruct the view from the adjacent properties. The hardship/practical difficulty is the terrain features of the applicants’ property.
