In your letter, you stated that a general inspection of "Lake Lida, No. 56-747" showed that I had installed^a well "on Lots 16 and 17, Blk. 3, of Lida Shores". To begin with, this is incorrect. I have never drilled a water well, or any other, on lots 16 and 17, or 16 or 17. A new septic tank was installed, according to State specificat:- ions, on Lot 16, Block Three, in 1981. This septic tank replaced an old "holding tank", and is located on the hill behind the cabin located on this lot. The water well' for this cabin - Lot 16 - was there before I purchased the lot, in 1977, and is located on the lake side of the cabin. I seem to recall that the depth of this well was 110 feet. A source of confusion on this entire matter might stem from records on adjacent lots that I previously owned, which were sold, last summer. Basically, I used to own these additional lots; Lots 12, 13, S< 14, Block Three. Lots 12 & 13 were originally purchased by me at the same time, from the same seller, and Lot 14 was purchased separately, at a different time. All three lots were sold by me last August, to one buyer, whose name I don’t have available, but can be obtained from Richard Hanson, at Century 21- The Property Shop, in Detroit Lakes. At the same time as I put-in the septic tank on Lot 16, I had a deep water well drilled on the lake-side of Lot 12, and I believe that this was 1981. This well went down over 140 feet, as I remember- they had difficulty finding good water, thus the great depth needed. The well drillers.,were Antonsen Well Drilling, of Vergus, and as far as sepb'ic systems for this well- we connected to a holding tank that was already on this lot when purchased. This holding tank is on the road-side of the mobile home, located on lots 12 & 13. Anything more on this matter should be referred to the present owner. BRUCE DAVIS POST OFPIOE) BOX 787070 ROSWEir,!,, QEOROIA >0078 page two I am further quite sure that apart from these two water systems, - one on my present property ( which happens to be under contract to be sold to the current renters- sale also being handled by Richard Hanson), and the other being on the portion of my property already sold, that there are no other water wells or sewage systems of any type, nor holding tanks, on any of the lots. If I understand your letter correctly, a certification for the sewage system located on Lot 16 will be required, and I assume that this will be needed even though a new water well has not been drilled. This may not be required, as you state; "In order for the sewage system to be certified we would need a reply from you informing us of the depth of your new well and the distance of the well from the septic tank and from your drainfield". As I want to try and cooperate with you as much as possible, the only thing further I can add, is approximate distances that exist between the old water well and the new septic tank that are on Lot 16. The water well is located approximately ten feet towards the lake, from the water pump housing, on the lake side of the cabin. As one stands directly on the well pump housing, the well angles ten feet towards the lake to the left of straight by perhaps four feet. There is no m^ing above the wellout, itself. it is well-As for the new septic tank, behind the cabin, marked with a white plastic pipe coming out of the ground, about half-way up the hill. The drainage field is principally located on the driveway, in front of the garage, and extending down towards the road. I remember the state regulations and the hill itself complicated this job. The work for this job was handled and arranged through Hanson's Plumbing, in Vergus. I have tried to provide you with everything I know about all water and sewage matters concerning my properties and time at Lake Lida. I hope that with this information, that you will be able to complete your work on my situation. Please contact Richard Hanson, in Detriot Lakes, if you want some one to meet you at the property. I have stated all I know, and would be happy to state the same in front of a notary. All best wishes.
